Upside down Apple & Ginger Cake/Loaf. 2 cups Apples sliced . 10 oz. flour 1/4 lb. sugar,  1tsp. each cinnamon, ginger, mix spice &  pinch salt. Mix well in bowl.  Heat 1/4 lb. butter  and 2 tbsps. golden syrup  together in saucepan. and add to dry ingredients. Mix 1&1/4 tsp. soda  and 1/2 c. milk and add to bowl.  then lastly add beaten egg . Put sliced apples in base of dish .pour over mixture to cover. Cook 1 hr. in not too hot an oven 350oF-150oC. By adding an extra egg this will fit into a square expanding tin.  Invert when cooked &. turn out on tray.
