in a screw topped jar in the refrigerator  for quite a considerable time.  then you just add water when need.

Pick up some pita pockets and stuff with tuna, chicken or fresh vegetables for a power-packed lunch that is quick and easy to fix.

Mix one head of chopped cauliflower with one pound of fresh, halved Brussels sprouts, 2-tablespoons olive oil, 3-tablespoons seasoned bread crumbs and three sprigs of rosemary. Bake at 400-degrees for 25 minutes. Sprinkle with 1-teaspoon lemon juice and serve.

Jazz up your sandwiches with roasted red peppers - without all the work: Look for them packed in water or oil in the condiment of your supermarket.

Instead of chips, try munching on asparagus. It's delicious raw or lightly steamed. Throw some in your lunch box for a snack or use a few stalks to dress up your next vegetable platter.

Perk up strawberries: Combine two cups of sliced berries with 2-tablespoons orange juice and 1-tablespoon each balsamic vinegar and brown sugar. Refrigerate 30 minutes. Toss, drain and serve.

For a summertime treat, peel and slice a ripe banana into bite-sized pieces on a plate. Drizzle with chocolate syrup and freeze for 45 minutes. Serve with toothpicks.

Keeping brown sugar soft
If brown sugar goes hard, try warming it for a short time in the microwave to soften. Also keeping a fresh slice of raw apple in the brown sugar bag will help prevent it hardening. Alternately a piece of soft bread in the bag will absorb excess moisture.

Can't stand the aroma of cabbage cooking? Add some ginger to it - it cuts out the sharp smell.

To keep fruits and vegetables fresh longer, wrap them in newspaper before storing them in the fridge.

If you are allergic to vinegar, substitute it with lemon juice.

Sprinkle boiling water on mushrooms while sauteeing, to prevent them from shrinking.

Add three or four drops of vinegar while cooking green peas if you want them to retain their natural green colour.

Run your hands under cold water before pressing rice crispies
treats in the pan and the marshmallow won't stick to your
fingers.

To get the most juice out of fresh lemons, bring them to room
temperature and roll them under your palm against the kitchen
counter before squeezing.

annies tips :-you can do the same with any citrus fruit  especially when squeezing juice for children .
