Black Cherry Jam: Rinse 1kg. Cherries,drain well,remove stones. Put Lemon juice [of 2 Lemons] and 1 cup Water in bowl.add some of the Sugar [total[2&1/2 cups],then layer of cherries. continue this until sugar & cherries are used. Leave overnite.Next day,strain syrup into large pan & stir over med.heat until sugar dissolves. Bring to boiling ,add cherries ,boil 45 mins or until setting starts.Stir frequently to prevent catching. Remove from heat ,stand for 5mins. pour jam into warm jars ,seal immediately. when cool label & date
