Foolery History Most April Fools' historians agree that April Fools' Day began when it was decided that the Christian world would adopt the new Gregorian calendar. According to the old calendar, the New Year was celebrated in the spring for 8 days (the final day of celebration being April 1st), but the new calendar was so entirely different from the old that the date of the New Year was changed to January 1st. |
