Hi John

Welcome to the group.
I've just looked at your profile, I take it that's you on holiday wearing a cowboy hat and standing next to a Dodge Intrepid car.
Where in UK are you from?
I'm from Derbyshire, about 12 miles south of Derby.

Hi John

I know what you mean, in some groups a newbie posts and there are very few replies if any. Inactive members get deleted here... we get lots join but never join in. There's no point in having loads of members just to make the numbers up. You may have come across groups where there are 100+ members but only half a dozen ever post. Anyone going on holiday, etc, or those that have been regular posters are ok.. we understand people can be busy and that pc's do crash, etc but after a lengthy period, eg, 6 months or a year and we haven't heard from them then they get deleted, but are welcome to reapply again. We get those that post once and we never hear from again, so after a few weeks or so, we delete them.
We are just normal people here doing everyday things.

Went I went to Canada & USA in October 2004 with my then Canadian wife, we were going to hire a Dodge Intrepid (2004 model was last made I believe) for $600+ CDN (rate was approx $2.4 CDN = £1 GBP at time) but they didn't have any available. They offered us a free upgrade.. the Jeep Liberty we turned down, but accepted the 2005 model Dodge Grand Caravan (that was $900+ CDN).
In the 17 days we were there I loved the Dodge, not that I'm into people carriers, but I would recommend it, had plenty of power and good on fuel. (We drove 600+Km from Toronto to Montreal when we picked it up). It was very handy to take out her 4 grandchildren, her son and his girlfriend, etc.
What was the Dodge Intrepid like to drive?

Hello again Kev, When i hired the car it was brand new..and was a wonderful drive. It was the first and only auto i have driven that had a control that allowed the engine to slip out  of gear when either descending a hill..(bad practice huh).. or using it as an over-run control when approaching traffic lights etc..i cant recall no whether it was marked up as freewheel but thats what it was...It was so good on petrol..accelerated very well and handled so well..i think the cost for 4 days from philly airport was about $27 a day plus tax..which i think was good value..and the year was 2003.That year i flew into Houston, TX. from London Via Chicago...and then after 3 weeks there, (what a wonderful city..almost as good as London..but not quite), i flew to Philly and stayed with my friends who live about 100miles north of there.I have driven a few cars over there, i even had my own Pontiac Sunbird when i was in Vermont..now that was a great little car..man oh man that was inspiring..both the car and vermont..lol..this year after a spell in Gulfport and Biloxi after Katrina i had the pleasure of driving the Chevy Sebring convertible and the new Ford 500..both good cars..and the 2006 mustang...i loved that..better ride than the original..lol, but not the admiring glances or the nostalgia....but then again after hauling around a 7 1/2 ton truck here for between 70 and 80 hrs a week for the previous 9 months any car would have felt good..lol.i didnt drive a people carrier but did also use a Ford Ranger truck out there and thats a great drive if your hauling stuff..i was hoping to have had the chance of using a Dodge Ram..but sadly it never happened..maybe next time..the closest i came to that was the newish Ford F150..with the double cab..i just love driving..thats why i stayed with it as a living for the past 20yrs over here..Now  i am trying to find a driver training programme over there that will take me on so i can make a living over there as a driver..i love it out there and intend to end my days over there somehow..

Hi there Alberto..i love the dodge ram trucks too..they are a beautiful beast, but i think that the newest ones now arent as powerful as they were about 4yrs ago when you could hook one up to a house and still drive away with the house in tow..they sure did have more raw power than the Hummer and more good looks to..and they were super fast...whooooeeeeeeeeeee..
happy driving over the holiday alberto..John
