Today,  Wednesday 23rd January 2008 I received an instant message from someone on my list, It said, "Hey is this your picture? " followed by a link which included mymsnspaces.com and my email address.
When I clicked the link I got a window up, open, save.. so I saved it. My antivirus showed it was ok.
When I opened it, it was a MS-DOS application. I kept getting msn messenger IM windows opening and closing. I tried to delete the file but Windows Vista wouldn't let me.. even as administrator. I couldn't drag n drop it into the recycle bin either.
 
I searched google and found a solution, I downloaded a file called DrDelete. I ran it, and it said it would deleted when I reboot the pc. I rebooted, it was still there. I ran DD again and it said, file deleted without reboot. I rebooted again to be on the safe side.
I've now emptied my recycle bin. All is ok now.

No wasn't you Barb.
Apparently my pc sent infected IM's to my ex Lynn. I spoke to her last night and she never opened anything.
The woman I got the virus from was online last night and I got more of the messages, which I never clicked on any links. If you have it you will be unaware that your pc is sending out infected messages,

Hi Barb
The hotmail addy I use to sign in begins with the letter V.
Due to time differences, you may be on at different times to me.
I don't use msn as much as I used to do, a lot of the time I sign in as invisible, just to collect emails, and don't bother chatting to anyone.  When I'm in "Away" mode, sometimes I am there, other times I'm not, could have gone out, watching tv on other room, eating, doing housework, etc.. but you can leave me a message.
