Don't need a gun.  I got my Acts 2 and two 38s.  Jesus said he's with me always.  So, if someone needs to be taken out, it will be God that does it, not me.  ...though I walk through the valley of shadow and death, I will fear no evil....

Bit of a spin-off...my DH has been in several combat roles; he's a Christian but never goes into battle in the 'valley of death' without taking some "precautions"

Don't you just love the pretty packaging they put on bondage these days?

I take it we're not talkin' the fluffy pink handcuff type "bondage"?

Yes, I believe in gun ownership. Although I will say that some people have no
business with a gun or a kitchen knife or a baseball bat or anything that might
be used as a weapon...and there is nothing that cant be used as a weapon if
needs be...even an egg hitting the head in the right place can kill a person...
God bless....cee

As my nickname suggests, I don't have much choice in the matter!! Although in all seriousness, 1. I believe everyone has the right to defend themselves and their families in any way possible, but 2. I would be a very happy man if I ended up looking for a new line of work.

Big Brother Takes Away Australian Citizens Registered Guns
The results are in from the governments forceful taking of registered firearms from  Australia's citizens in 1999. One year after gun owners were forced to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed, including semi-automatic .22 rifles and shotguns, a program costing the government over 500 million dollars, the results are a dramatic increase in criminal activity has been experienced. Gun control advocates respond "Just wait... we'll be safer... you'll see...". Yes indeed! After 12 months of statistics  the crime of homocides rose 3%, assaults rose 8%., and armed robberies increases a staggering 44%    This type of governmental thinking should warn all citizens of any country to be wary of the threat of this type of Big Brother mentality. Of course, when Big Brother comes to YOUR door and not only take away your guns, but perhaps your property, your money, and even you, he doesn't want the citizens to be able to defend themselves.

to you that said australlia is better now - better go disprove some facts

I believe gun ownership should be left alone as it is that is if you want to own a gun go ahead. However, you have been warned that whoever lives by the sword(replace with 'gun' the modern day weapon of choice) will die by the sword.
I choose to sleep away peacefully so I will not be a gun owner.

Sorry, that's not true. It would be nice and convenient to believe it, but I've seen too much proof to the contrary. One that stands out in my mind is the store clerk who was shot dead by an armed robber who didn't want to leave any witnesses. Fortunately he was caught and arrested, but that didn't help the clerk, a young college girl who was only working there part-time while she was in school.

The link in post 148 doesn't provide a link to the alleged statistics about Australia's crime rate with regard to guns.....

I wish I could have gun but cannot. If it came to it, someone breaking into my house and trying to harm my family I would pull the trigger.
