Christians need to realize the demonic power that exists in this worl because we fight against it.(Eph 6:20).  Some may ask, "I don't do occultic activites, how does it realte to me."  It relates to you because it was a problem within the early church.(Acts 13,16.) Wolves in sheeps skins in demonic activity would creep into the church and even declare statements such as “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation."-The origonal greek does not read "the" way to salvation, but a way to salvation.

As I'm sure you know, there is a spirit realm and there are spirit beings in the spirit realm.  According to the bible, there are three heavens. Satan was kicked out of heaven. There is also a spirit realm down here where we reside on the earth.  There are angels and there are demons in the spirit realm on this level.  People who say they are talking to the dead or seeing the dead are actually seeing familiar spirits.  Meaning, these are evil spirits (demons) that are familiar with people who passed on.  Spirits can change their appearance.

And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

 

The (demon) spirit of divination operates through phyics.

 

In the bible, people went to the prophets or seers to find something or someone who was lost.  See the scriptures below:

1 Samuel 9:3-6, 9, 18-20

3And the asses of Kish Saul's father were lost. And Kish said to Saul his son, Take now one of the servants with thee, and arise, go seek the asses. 4And he passed through mount Ephraim, and passed through the land of Shalisha, but they found them not: then they passed through the land of Shalim, and there they were not: and he passed through the land of the Benjamites, but they found them not.  5And when they were come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant that was with him, Come, and let us return; lest my father leave caring for the asses, and take thought for us.  6And he said unto him, Behold now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honourable man; all that he saith cometh surely to pass: now let us go thither; peradventure he can shew us our way that we should go.

If you go to a Holy prophet or seer for this information, you are getting this information from the God.  If one goes to those who call themselves seers or phyics, etc. and they are not God's Holy prophets or seers; then that information is coming from demons.
