Traditional Conservative Republican Ron Paul explains the just war theory. He also talks about the PROBLEMS with: international law, new world government(United Nations) socialism, neoconservatism, welfare and newer definitions of the Constitution.

As many of you know, I have spoken against Barack Obama's and John McCain's foreign policy. Some have asked what my view of this is. The video below explains the conservative Christian doctrine of a "Just war." Ron Paul explains the 6 things needed for a war to be justified biblically and according to the historical church for over 1,9000 years.

It is also important to note that in the past, the Republican party was known as the peace party, for the following reasons:

1. In the 1920's Democratic President Woodrow Wilson(a liberal)gave American his liberal foreign policy of nation building.(Today we call the idea of nation building "Wilsonianism.") Wilson's
liberal idea of nation building was that America had to be more involved in the world. Nation building called for military force to give "other nations a democracy." The Republicans condemned Wilson for this because they said it "gave up American sovereignty." They felt it gave up sovereignty because we were now worried about other nation's personal problems. Thomas Jefferson, a proponent of "small government"(a major part of conservatism is small government) once said "Do not entangle upon the affairs of other nations."

2. After WW2 began,a liberal by the name of Franklin Roosevelt called America to a united front of alliances. He called it the "United Nations." The United Nations policy was(and still is today) similar to the liberal Wilsonian beliefs of preemption, nation building and interventionism. Republicans also condemned FDR for his call for a United system of alliances. This system of alliances is exactly AGAINST conservatism. Jefferson once said: "Be friends with all nations(but) ALLIANCE WITH NO ONE."(emphasis added)

3. In 1948 Democratic President Harry S. Truman called for the "Truman doctrine." It was a continuation of Wilsonianism and FDR's liberal policies. It also called for the American military industrial complex to essentially give other nations a democracy.(Again, giving up American sovereignty) This lead to the Korean war in 1950. Robert A Taft, a man given the title "Mr. Republican" was against much of this philosophy. Taft was against going into the war in Korea because he said the President didn't have the authority to declare war.(Article 1:section 8 and the war clauses) The Constitution only gives congress the authority to declare war.(Article 1:section 8, section 10) The President only has authority to direct the troops in war as commander in chief. Taft's conservative Republican policy is known as "non interventionism." Which was the party's platform from then all the way until the 1990's.

Finally, Eisenhower came to rescue America from disobedience to the Constitution and higher taxes through a withdraw from troops in Korea. Which then in turned brought America back to "strict constitutionalism" and conservatism.

4. Then, the liberals again called for another preemptive war, but now in Vietnam. Republican conservative Barry Goldwater condemed the war for similar reasons as Taft's opposition to the Korean war. Again, a Republican President pulled troops out of another country.

5. When Cuban President Fidel Castro came to more power, Democratic President John F. Kennedy called for the "Cuban missile crisis." Which, was a disaster because it didn't actually fix the problem of Castro's ability to get nuclear weapons. The Republican party against condemned the Democrats because they felt it was too aggressive. Plus, the Cuban missile crisis actually gave Castro more power, even though it's purpose was to limit Castro's power. Republicans pointed that the Cuban missile crisis would cause too much resentment between America and Cuba....they were right.

6. Bill Clinton was also a major proponent of nation building. He called for nation building in Haiti and Somalia. Again the Republicans condemned the liberal Democrats. Saying they called for "an immediate withdraw from troops in Haiti."

"LESSON: in democrats there is no good thing."-Billy
Amen to that!

Billy, that is the lesson. With Democrats you have much government bureaucracies you can't manage.. However, did you listen to the other things I mentioned? I also mentioned how the MODERN Republican party now has accepted many of those philosophies of the Democratic party. Therefore, either way, you have the same philosophy, for the most part, whether it's a Democrat or a Republican. IE, entitlements, foreign policy, departments, federal reserve, etc. In many cases, your supporting a platform of a Democratic party by even voting for a Republican because many Republicans have now accepted the Democrat's platform and policies.

" do we relly think the constitution will hold off the inevitable. the elite seven already have the upper hand."

You wouldn't have all these secret governmental programs if you had a STRICT Constitutionalist system. The "elite" seven wouldn't even be a part of the political and geo-political order. In a Constitutional system you have more individual privacy(5th,6th Amendments) and the government wouldn't be able to do all the things they do in secret, in secret. IE, the Patriot Act,wire tapping, industrial complex, agencies making deals with the government, etc.

It is a conspiracy theory to state that, however, there is MUCH truth to that statement. Progressively, each President supported more government interventionism. As well as, a whole line of Presidents in the 20th century supported so many similar policies.
