Has the devil been destroyed?

According to scripture the devil and his works have been destroyed , so why do people still blame the devil for a lot of things and why does it appear that the devil is still tempting and testing people?

Hbr 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

1Jo 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Rev 1:18 I [am] he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Jesus came to this earth for the purpose of destroying the devil and His works and his power of death. Jesus now has the KEYS to the pit of hell and death.

Satan has no more dominion over any of Gods Children.

The devil only has power over the deluded children of the devil.

If you knew the REAL Jesus, you would know who I am too.

I am IN HIM and He is IN ME.

However , because you are blind, you cant recognise who I am any better than the Pharisees could recognise who Jesus was.

Let him that has an ear to hear, hear what the SPIRIT SAYS.

I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD.

Whatever you do to me you also do it to JESUS because HE is in ME and I am IN HIM. WE ARE ONE .

TRUTH sets people FREE from the deceptions and delusions of the devil.

TRUTH sets people FREE from SIN

Its amazing how the Pharisees wish to shut up the TRUTH of GOD and want to put out the LIGHT and regardless of what the TRUTH says they cant hear it because they are deaf. All they hear is "blah blah blah" and cant comprehend the WORD. I feel sorry for these deaf and blind people.

Father forgive them, they dont have a clue what they are saying or doing.

The Devil has not been destroyed.

Satan is a defeated foe. You said it, through death he (Jesus) destroyed him that had the power of death, that is, the devil. Some might think you meant the devil no longer exists when you said the devil is destroyed. Words mean different things to different people.

Jesus took authority away from Satan and transferred it back to the church (the Body of Christ).

Colossians 2:15 (KJV)

And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Satan has no authority over the Christians, but God says, his people perish for lack of knowledge. There are some Christians who don't know that they have authority over the devil. They don't know to submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee. The devil looks for those who will let him devour them cause he may not devour those who are aware of his devices.

1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Luke 10:17, 19
And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
19Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

In a battle, if you lose your power, you have been destroyed. Satan's only has schemes and magic tricks now. Satan uses lies and deceptions, that sort of thing and since the word of God has already said named him the father of lies and a deciever, we know when he tells us something, don't believe him.

However, the devil is still a tempter, but being tempted is not a sin. Now if you give in to a sinful temptation, then you commit sin. See below even Jesus was tempted, but without sin.

Matthew 4:3
And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

1 Thessalonians 3:5
For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain.

Satan does tempt a person to do what he wants, but he cannot make you do anything. Remember, when he tempted Jesus, but Jesus never did anything Satan told him to do. Satan said make bread. Jesus didn't do it. Satan said cast yourself down off this pinnacle of the temple. Jesus didn't do it. Satan said, worship me. Jesus didn't do it. It's really that simple, when Satan tells you to do something, don't do it.

Satan is only a defeated foe to all who walk in obedience to Christ and are overcomers in the Spirit of God. Satan defeats those who dont walk in the spirit and they are not even aware of it.

If you check the Greek meaning of the words which are translated as "he might destroy" you will find the following....

The word in Hbr 2:14 is actually (katargeo) translated as "he might destroy"

"katargeo" biblical usage.

1) to render idle, unemployed, inactivate, inoperative
a) to cause a person or thing to have no further efficiency
b) to deprive of force, influence, power

2) to cause to cease, put an end to, do away with, annul, abolish
a) to cease, to pass away, be done away
b) to be severed from, separated from, discharged from, loosed from any one
c) to terminate all intercourse with one

The word "LUO" is used in 1John3:8 and that has also been translated as " He might destroy"

The outline of biblical usage for the Greek word "LUO" is as follows>>>

1) to loose any person (or thing) tied or fastened
a) bandages of the feet, the shoes,
b) of a husband and wife joined together by the bond of matrimony
c) of a single man, whether he has already had a wife or has not yet married

2) to loose one bound, i.e. to unbind, release from bonds, set free
a) of one bound up (swathed in bandages)
b) bound with chains (a prisoner), discharge from prison, let go

3) to loosen, undo, dissolve, anything bound, tied, or compacted together
a) an assembly, i.e. to dismiss, break up
b) laws, as having a binding force, are likened to bonds
c) to annul, subvert
d) to do away with, to deprive of authority, whether by precept or act
e) to declare unlawful
f) to loose what is compacted or built together, to break up, demolish, destroy
g) to dissolve something coherent into parts, to destroy
h) metaph., to overthrow, to do away with

It means Jesus put an end to the power that the devil can have over the children of God. Jesus unties people from the bonds of the devil and sets them free while at the same time binding the devil and destroying the hold he has over the Children of God. The devil and all he tries to do is ineffective in the lives of those who are ONE with JESUS.

The whole reason ( purpose) that Jesus came to die on the cross is to loose people from the bonds of the devil and render the devils hold over them ineffective. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested,...

Therefore anyone who is Truly IN CHRIST does not need to fear the devil since the devil is powerless in your life when you FOLLOW and OBEY JESUS and you cannot blame the devil for anything in your life because the Father will not allow anything to come across your path without a very good reason. Satan has been bound by Jesus and is limited in what he can do. Satan needs Gods permission to do anything at all just like He needed permission to do anything at all in Jobs life.

The devil only exists in the kingdom of darkness, not in the kingdom of light. Jesus is Light and the devil is darkness. Light always destroys darkness continually. Light always dispels darkness yet darkness still exists in the place where light does not reach.

It is the same in the Spiritual realm.

So when the WORD of God says that Jesus destroyed the devil it is not just talking about something Jesus did in the past but about the past, present and future since the WORD of God applies in the SAME way YESTERDAY TODAY and FOR EVER and always will.

God gave us a living parable to show us that TRUTH in our daily lives through the lesson we learn from day and night. The light of the day destroys the darkness continually yet at the same time darkness remains in the absence of Light.

Darkness is merely an absence of LIGHT.

The devil is what is in your life when there is an absence of Jesus.

That is the simple TRUTH of the matter.

Let those who have ears to hear, hear what the Spirit says.

Him that overcometh will I Make a pillar in the temple of God.

Overcome the darkness in your LIFE through walking in the LIGHT and being ONE with the LIGHT.

YE ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD.

BE THAT LIGHT OF THE WORLD and overcome the darkness.

Dont hide your light under a bushel.

Shine brightly so all who want to see the LIGHT and know the TRUTH can see the LIGHT and the TRUTH will set you free.

I am the LIGHT of the WORLD. He that believeth in me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of LIFE.

Follow me as I follow Christ.

If you believe in me you believe in my Father also for He is in me and I am in HIM.

The devil doesn't even have the keys to his own house.
