Good Afternoon Friends
WOW! What a week! I know its Tuesday but its my Friday and to say the least I am exhausted as it has been a long work week for me due to working extra hours. We have two staff who are possibly undergoing major surgery. One for gall bladder and the other for a twisted bowel. I am finding it difficult at times to function because of the arthritis in my neck and the torn muscle in my throat which is healing slowly. As concerned as I am about the above I am more concerned about what is happening in Canada and the United States. What happens in one country affects the other eith directly or indirectly. Now, some of the things I've heard, especially regarding Obama and the Democrats, is their liberal views on babies who are born deformed or having a short time to live being left to die. How many Evangelical Christians are turning from supporting Republican candidates to supporting Obama and his Democrats. Is Obama such an eloquent speaker? Are his views and philosphies so appealing that he is drawing supporters away from the Republican camp? I saw some pictures of Obama that shocked me. These pictures appeared both in Newspapers and T.V.. These pictures of Obama are frightening in that they are similar to pictures I have seen in History Books of another politician, one who ran and won the office of Chancellor in 1932. I am worried about what is happening and what might happen after January 01, 2009.
Here in Canada we elected a minority Government October 14.08. That election cost us $290 million dollars ( remember our population here is 33 million compared to US population 290 - 300 million ). They're already talking about another election in two years ( minority governments have a low life span). We are seeing our Financial Markets crashing around, CEO's walking away unrepentedly with tens of millions of dollars in their pockets while you and I are scrambling to find sufficient means to surrive. We are also witnessing the continuing spiritual decline and fall of Christianity in North America. More and more God is being pushed out of existence or at least to the sidelines as someone who is there in case we need a good luck charm or as "spare tire" in case our choice of life style fails. More and more we hear fewer sermons that challenage and encourage us. I aam hearing only "nice things." What has happened to teaching and preaching against sin? Where are the sermons to encourage the unsaved to accept Christ as Lord and Saviour? Where are the sermons that encourage us to live faithful lives for Christ? Those of us who are part of the faitful few need to lay aside our personal differences, our personal judgements against those whom we disagree with. We need to unite in prayer for oneanother, for the enemies of Christ, those who are rejecting Him. We need to pray for those who have gone astray, we need to pray for those in authority whether in government or our bosses. Remember, United we stand divided we fall.
