Is it possible to love God and not be in love with God? One scenario would be the person that just loves God will come to service and worship and go through the motions but as soon as they leave the building God is the last thing on their mind.....But that person more than likely truly loves God but not enough to give all of themselves to him..... Sounds like this generations marriages doesn't it..... For the one that is in love with God, that person whether in church, at work, at school, at home, in public, in private, God is on their mind, they constantly focus on what they can do to further the kingdom, what they can do to grow closer to God and what can they do to please God....

That is a great point and subject.
Some have falling away from their first love and though they love but they are not in love.

No offense, but you're playing word games.

I love my grandbabies and I am in love with my grandbabies because it means the same thing.

loving someone is careing deeply for that person but putting them on a side burner. Being in love is takeing action continually for that person your in love with. I can love my brother but rarely think of him. When I am in love they are in the forefront of my mind.

I agree with the above MW after re-readig my post, thanks for the correction.... I would say that loving God is the same as being in love with Him... There is no half-hearted love.... Either you love God with all of your heart, soul, and strength or you do not love God at all....  In John 14:15 Jesus said, 'If you love Me, keep My commandments.....' And in 1 Corinthians 16:22 Paul wrote, 'If anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed....'

Amen, I agree, and aren't those tough verses you posted?

We need God's help, even to LOVE Him.

Amen.  Excellent.
