Hi everyone. Sorry I've been MIA so much...just feeling down but doing my best to stay positive. Some of you might have heard that on November 10th I had to go into the hospital to have my thyroid gland removed and then this past Tuesday when I went to see my surgeon, she told me that one of those nodules on the thyroid gland was cancerous unfortunately; I have thyroid cancer.. therefore, I have to go for some iodine scan they do in the radiology department of the hospital. It involved my being "isolated" from Steve and of course, not being able to go to work or anywhere for that matter until the "radiation" is gone from my system which could be anywhere from 2 to 7 days from what I hear. The point of the scan is to absorb any thryoid tissue that might be left over .. at least I think that's what it does. These doctors talk so fast and think we are supposed to know what they are talking about. It gets me so mad sometimes.

Kim, hon, thank you for your call on my cell phone. I couldn't really talk with my voice ... I had to strain to talk, so I don't know if you even knew of my situation. Please give my sweet Bryan a big Auntie LouLou hugggggggg and Thomas as well! Thanks for calling.

you know I've had thyroid probs for years,

I had the radioactive capsule placed into my throat about 15 years ago,

babe,

you DO NOT FEEL ANYTHING AT ALL......

he was all dressed up like a Spaceman,

chased every woman out of the room.told me I had to keep away from children for 2 weeks,also pregnant women too,no visitors to my home please,because I would be radioactive for 2 weeks.

so,I was bothered by now,

but,the placing of the radioactive capsule into my throat,did nothing to hurt me.......................................................................

I felt nothing...in the 2 weeks I felt no different.....and you know me,,,,,I have allergic reactions to everything new.....

so please do not worry about it.

Please keep in touch,it's been agony not knowing how you are doing.as I said before,no one knows about Thyroids until they go wrong,and mine is always going wrong,but,it does recover...

I will have you always in my thoughts and prayers..lubs yo hun.xxxxPatxxxx

aww..thanks so much, Pat, Shirley, Kim, FoxyLady....you guys are so sweet. Pat, so sorry I worried you. I haven't been too keen on being on my PC. I just made arrangements today with the hospital to have that scan done December 8th, then I go back December 10th for another one and then they decide whether the iodine treatment is necessary or not. As of today, I am on this low-iodine diet, and I am busy downloading off internet a 90 page recipe book. I need to get to the grocery store and stock up on certain items I am allowed to eat.....but no bread (OMG..I am a huge bread lover) butter, eggs, milk, processed foods of any kind are not allowed. It looks like I can have turkey in moderation, steak, pork and meats though. I can also eat pasta..HOORAY..but need to make my own sauce.

Anyway, thank you for caring and your thoughts and prayers....they mean so much to me you have no idea!!
