Yes, the Lou Reed pic is all dots, Dee...and it is actually taken from a very small part of a collage on the inside sleeve of a very rare Lou Reed album on vinyl, called "Take No Prisoners", which was recorded live at The Rock Bottom in New York. I drew the picture much larger and the "dots" have been somewhat lost in the transfer to computer...but; alas, technology often doesn't do justice to a work of art.
In answer to your question: "Was this based on a show you saw?", I suppose in a way it was...I've seen Lou Reed live in concert countless times, at one show I was no more than ten feet from Lou!!! He was able to hear everything I yelled to him, and responded many times with a grin...looking directly at me...AWESOME show, that one!!!
Mind you, I couldn't count the number of concerts I've been to in my life...Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Nine Inch Nails, Skinny Puppy, Ministry, The Clash, The Sex Pistols, Sisters Of Mercy, The Rolling Stones, Rage Against The Machine, The Who, The Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, The Steve Miller Band, and Tom Petty are a few examples of artists I have seen whenever they've been playing Toronto, Montreal, or Buffalo. I even took my son to see Children Of Bodom and Trivium at The Opera House in Toronto (a venue I have played myself, by the way).
On top of that, while playing with Red Army Underground, we opened for Lords Of The New Church, The Viletones, and The Forgotten Rebels, amongst others...indeed, music has always been a great passion in my life.

mahalo! Steve
