Due to his not breathing up to par where to doctors wanted him to be....he was not allowed any pain killers until he was off the respirator....had he been given pain killers it would have kept him in a relaxed state which would have kept the breathing on his own down....it took like 45 minutes of coaching....the tubes were removed and he was given his PK...hopefully by now he was also given something to wet his whistle...when the tubes came out.....the only form of liquid he was allowed was via an oversized swab dunked in ice water...

Great News!!!  I knew he would be OK!  Give him a hug from all of us!

My pops is aware of everything and is receiving all the messages, e-cards, etc during the next visit at 2pm....though he won't be able to see the cards in animated form until he comes home(neither of us have laptops)....I was able to page scan scene by scene, copy, paste, print the whole thing...

 

He didn't get much sleep last night, but was doing great this morning....he should be getting his room sometime today....hopefully he got it already or he lands it while we are over there.....that way we can stay straight thru till 8 o'clock....instead of coming and going every couple of hours...at that time I will have a much more info to pass on....Lyn will be the one spreading the room number and phone number information around for those who want it when it is made available....

 

I would like to thank each and every one of you for your love and support...

 

My mother....though computer illiterate....has been following these threads...you guys and gals have really touched her heart....she normally isn't one to go anywhere near the computer....but has kept checking in from time to time for new responses.

 

We can't thank you great folks enough....

My pops finally got his room at 6pm(better late than never I guess)....they told him they were preparing a room for him at 9:30am....there were tons on of empty rooms when he finally got up there.....hmmmm? That's the hospital for you(any hospital)....

 

Anyways....he was a little sore today....a bit tired.....but he was still doing great....he was able to get breakfast, a good lunch and part of his dinner down(the sandwich was too dry for him....he is only allowed to take in so much liquid....so by then he was all dried out....

 

Now the great news....his nurse told us it wouldn't surprise her if he was given his walking papers Monday morning....because of how great his recovery is coming....

 

I gave him everybodies messages, emails, etc up until the last post of mine....

 

 

I also let him know that there are those here who would like to visit and call....that info will be sent to Lyn, in which she will distribute for those who are down....

 

Tomorrow he will begin walking the halls.....that shouldn't be much of a problem because he was up and walking today....on his own....even to the bathroom....hell, when I guy gotta go, they gotta go(he didn't think he had to fill a bottle...lol)...

 

Same Dadoo, sore, tired(doped), hungry and thirsty as hell(OK, so that isn't nothing out of the ordinary).....active....alive....and homeward bound soon....

 

Dadoo will still be receiving all the messages, email's, etc that get dropped off here or in my email....so don't think you missed him getting your response, because I plan on giving him every one of them from now until he comes home....

 

Sorry I didn't have much more to say....all is great and like Dadoo....the Nerd is exhausted(minus the drugs)....
