Marissa Renee Beatty
Marissa Renee Beatty, "Our Beautiful Light", was born October 2, 1991 at the Navapache Hospital in Show Low. She went home to be with the Lord on May 22nd in Phoenix Children's Hospital following a short illness. Marissa attended Blue Ridge Elementary and Mid-School and was just promoted to the 8th Grade at Blue Ridge Jr. High School. Marissa was a very active student. She had been a student aide; she was always on the Honor Roll and was in Horizons-an advanced class. She also belonged to the Science Club and Math Club. She enjoyed sports and especially loved playing Volleyball. She loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar and played the clarinet in the band. She enjoyed hanging out with her friends at school and at her church. Marissa is survived by her parents, Michael & Mickey Beatty of Lakeside; one brother, Wile Beatty of Lakeside; one sister, Ashton McCall of Phoenix; grandparents, Grandma & Poppa Beatty of Chandler, Grandfather Mike Vandermark of Scottsdale, and Grandmother Sandra Noble of Show Low; and her dog "Silverton". Marissa also leaves Aunts, Uncles and Cousins, and friends whom she loved and who loved her. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, to help with the funeral expenses a memorial account has been set up in Marissa's name at Compass Bank. Funeral Services will be held at 2:25 PM Friday, May 27th at Blue Ridge Elementary School Multi-Purpose Room with Pastor Steve Hair officiating. There will be a visitation from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Thursday, May 26th at the White Mountain Bible Church on Show Low Lake Road with Pastor Paul Jorden officiating. Interment will be in the Show Low Cemetery. Owens Mortuary of Show Low is handling the arrangements. For those who have special memories, comments or would like to send private condolences, we invite you to visit our website at www.owensmortuary.com.
