Goodell fires back at Polamalu's 'pansy game' remarks
USA Today Fri, 17 Oct 2008 7:07 AM PDT
Troy Polamalu's criticism of NFL crackdowns on what it considers dangerous tactics has caught the attention of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. A day after the Pittsburgh Steelers' hard-hitting safety said the NFL is becoming "like a pansy game" and questioned whether the league is truly concerned about player safety with some its rules and fines, Goodell fired back.

Steelers RB Willie Parker misses practice again
USA Today Thu, 16 Oct 2008 6:58 PM PDT
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Willie Parker didn't practice again Thursday because of a sprained left knee and might not play Sunday in Cincinnati. Parker, coming off three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, injured his medial collateral ligament Sept. 21 in Philadelphia. He ran for more than 100 yards in each of the Steelers' first two games.
