Scott! Thought I'd hear from you! LOL! Not sure how the Isles are going to look next season, but the Pens are lining up some good things. Remember: they finished 10-4-3 after starting off with that horrid record. And with the addition of Crosby, Recchi and hopefully 2004's #1 pick Evgeny Malkin, combined with Mario, Ryan Malone, and Marc-Andre in goal, this 2005-06 version of the Pens is going to surprise a lot of folks. I could even see them making a play-off push if all things go "swimmingly". Cali Ed |

Plus Ed, whoever we decide to pick up on the free-agency
Big names include:
Peter Forsberg, Markus Naslund, Mike Modano, Alexei Kovalev, Pavol Demitra, Ziggy Palffy, Miroslav Satan, Scott Niedermayer, Adam Foote, Sergei Gonchar and Brian Leetch.
The rumors I'm hearing here in the Burgh.....Marty Straka (I hope to all hell we don't sign him) Domi (I hope we do, need a fighter and somebody to protect Crosby and Lemieux) and Kovalev (good sharp shooter but scares me at the point when on the PP). |

Tongue in cheek or not,,, it was still very much a turn off to family! It was a public attack on one's loyalties! And I guess we can just go on with business and let it go!!!!!!!!! Right???? Until it happens to one of us personally! Well,,,, sorry for my controversial opinion! John Steelwolf58 |

Definately ready for hockey to restart! I heard that the Pens already have somewhere near a 40% increase in ticket sales on the rumour that they were going to get Crosby. As for things here in CBJ land, we are excited about the season. Especially since Rick Nash had such a great season in the Swiss leagues. The restaurants and bars near the arena are glad to get their core business back. The arena football league just doesn't have the same appeal..lol |

For the last couple of years i could never tell which islander team would
show and we had gotten younger and better last played 2 seasons but of course
the strike happens.lol. Honestly im just glad to see hockey coming back and
after i feel better about live action again then ill worry about how bad the
islanders might be.lol. We will have to wait and see, but lets go steelers.

As of right now, Craig Patrick has me a little on edge. Picking up Gonchar is great in my opinion, but I still feel we need a veteran goalie and a winger. The talent pool is getting less and less as the days go by. Patrick doesn't have the excuses that he had in years past (some I agree with, others I don't). If he messes this up it's time to look for a new manager in my opinion.
Patrick stated he was going to hit the free-agent market hard. So far.............
Nieuwendyk and Roberts are panthers. Pavol Demitra is a king. Pronger is an oiler. Forsberg is a flyer. Modano stayed with the stars. Aucoin is a hawk. Zhamnov is a bruin. Tanguay statey an Avalanche.
Those are the big names that have signed. Patrick, start moving while there are still a few fish in the pond. |

LMFAO!!! Honestly,,, to answer this question,, Brings such a smile to my face,,, I cannot even believe I am wasting the internet ink to post it but hey,,, what the heck! Nothing against Thirsty of course,,, just HOCKEY! I am not feelin it at all so It wont matter if they skate through my AC Frozen living room in front of me,,,, I could not distract my focus on NFL and well,,, I guess i have decided upon a favorite Nascar driver, car, team. Ok,,, at the risk of full beer cans being heaved at me and loud shout outs,,,, middle fingers, and the sort,,,,, I have decided to back and root for Kasey Khane #9 the rest of his carreer in Nascar!!!!! I have not yet in life gotten into Nascar but last weekend at Indianapolis had me on the edge of my seat biteing my fingernails, cussing and hollering like a Steelers NFL game! I guess it is not something I can any longer deny! I just had to watch NASCAR long enough to decide whom i would choose to love! I have always had a love of MOPAR and that Charger Dodge is awesome and the paint is cool!!! Kasey Kahne ( I hope I spelled it right), is young and on his way to a great career. I kinda wanted Rusty Wallace to be my driver cause of the beer label but he is retiring and I liked Mark Martin when he had the Valvoline sponsor and car but since he went Viagra,,, what a turnoff!!! Did you know that Medicare covers Viagra so old dudes can get laid but it wont cover alot of NECESSARY drugs of which I would have to ask my sourse again which ones they are.... Ok back to my point,,,, Both Martin and Wallace are out soon!!! Jr or Mr. #8 is my brother's guy and I supported him all the while trying to pick and gain some feelings about another driver! If you dont feel your choice,,, you dont really give a crap!!! If we all didnt have FEELINGS about or for the Steelers,,, we wouldnt waste our time getting hurt year after year but remaining loyal..... Ps I drink Busweiser Select now which has no after taste and is a great tasting beer!!! Bye Bye Miller Lite!!!! South Africa owned!!! John Steelwolf58 |

Penguins obtain Thibault from Hawks
The Pittsburgh Penguins have solidified their goaltending situation for the upcoming season, acquiring veteran goaltender Jocelyn Thibault from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
Thibault became available after the Blackhawks signed free-agent Nikolai Khabibulin, who led the Tampa Bay Lightning to the 2004 Stanley Cup.
Thibault was 5-7-2 in 14 games for the Hawks during an injury-plagued 2003-04 season. He missed 60 games after hip surgery.
The addition of Jocelyn Thibault gives the Penguins a veteran goaltender to help Marc-Andre Fleury develop at his own pace. In 536 career regular-season games, Thibault is 227-217-68 with a 2.69 goals-against average. He was originally drafted by the Quebec Nordiques with the 10th pick of the 1993 Entry Draft and was traded to the Montreal Canadiens along with Andrei Kovalenko and Martin Rucinsky for Patrick Roy and Mike Keane on Dec. 6, 1995. Thibault joined the Hawks along with Dave Manson and Brad Brown in exchange for Jeff Hackett, Eric Weinrich and Alain Nasreddine and future considerations on Nov. 16, 1998.
Thibault leaves the Hawks fourth on the team's all-time win list, trailing only Tony Esposito, Glenn Hall and Ed Belfour.
Thibault is the latest piece in an ambitious rebuilding program that's under way in Pittsburgh.
The Pens, of course, drafted Sidney Crosby with the top selection in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft and also have brought Mark Recchi, Zigmund Palffy and Sergei Gonchar aboard to join Mario Lemieux on the team's roster. - NHL.com |
