NFL salaries '08: Big Ben smiling as highest-paid player

The value of a franchise quarterback shows up on the field, in the Super Bowl and on the payroll. Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger takes home the NFL's largest single-season paycheck this year, earning more than $27.7 million. Roethlisberger, a No. 1 pick in 2004, took his team to victory in Super Bowl XL in his second season.
