Yup, we know how much we love our Kielbasa, Brats, Knockwurst, etc, and with Grilling season fast approaching I figure I should empart a few tips for us amateurs.

First, Inspect the packaging for the words "Pre-Cooked"  If you don't see them, assume that the saussage is raw.  And for our purposes, Brats should be pre cooked.  Otherwise it's raw on the inside and burnt on the outside.

So get your brats ready.  Here's a basic recepie for the pre-cook process.

10 brats
2-12 oz bottles or cans of Iron City (or whatever your favorite beer is)
1 Large onion
1 sweet pepper

Pour beer into pot, coarsely chop up onion and pepper and put them in the pot.  Bring pot to boil, then lower heat to simmer.  Drop in brats.  Simmer brats for 20 minutes.

When all brats are finished, strain beer mix to get the onions and peppers, and you can use them as topping.  You can also fry some of the beer out of the peppers and onions and make it your topping.

For more tips, search the web.  Happy Grillin!

agentjosh,
so yummy, we have them just about  everyother sunday..
except i like to toast my buns, just gives them little extra kick.
i also toast the brats on the grill,( not very long) after boiling them in the beer just to give them a little carmel color..
