Jesus Christ, The Pre-Existence of

The Pre-Existence of Jesus Christ

The Truth about Jesus Christ

The facts in Lesson Four about God apply to the Lord Jesus Christ in His pre-incarnate state as a Spirit Being, for He is one of the three separate and distinct Spirit Beings making the Deity or Godhead. Until about nineteen hundred years ago the second person of the Deity had the same kind of Spirit body, personal soul, and spirit that the Father and the Holy Spirit still have. At that time one of the three divine persons of the Trinity took human form to redeem the world. This is what has made the difference between the members of the Godhead during the last nineteen hundred years. The following study concerns the person of the Lord Jesus Christ as the manifestation of the invisible God among men:

The Bible declares that the person we now know as Jesus Christ was one of the three divine persons of the Deity and that as God He had no beginning. It is this time before He became a man that we refer to as His pre-existence. Technically, there is no such thing as existence before Him as God, but He existed before He became a man. Mic. 5:1-2 speaks of Him as existing from all eternity. John speaks of Him as existing in the very beginning with the Father (John 1:1-5). Jesus speaks of Himself as being before Abraham and before the world was created (John 8:58; 17:5, 24). Paul speaks of Him as existing before all things and as the Creator and Upholder of all things (Col. l:15-18 Heb. 1:1-3, 8; 2:10). God the Father created all things by Him (Eph. 3:9) and the Holy Spirit (Gen. 1:2).

The Deity of Jesus Christ

1. DIVINE NAMES AND TITLES ARE ASCRIBED TO HIM. The following list of divine names and titles given to Jesus proves that He is by nature divine and a member of the Godhead. He is called God and Immanuel (Matt. 1:23; John 1:1; 20:28; Acts 20:28); Lord (Luke 19:34; Acts 2:36); Lord of All (Acts 10:36); Lord of Glory (1 Cor. 2:8); Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isa. 9:6-7); Christ the Lord (Luke 2:26); The Son of God (Matt. 4:3; 14:33; Luke 22:70; John 1:34; Rom. 1:4); His Son (Matt. 22:45; John 3:16-18); My Son (Matt. 3:17); The Only Begotten Son (John 1:18; 3:16-18; 1 John 4:9); The First and the Last, Alpha and Omega, The Beginning and the Ending (Rev. 22:12, 13, 16); The Lord (Acts 9:17); The Son of the Highest (Luke 1:32; Mark 14:61); The Bread of God (John 6:33); The Holy One of God (Mark 1:24); Thy Holy Child Jesus (Acts 4:30); King of Kings and Lord of Lords (Rev. 19:16); Lord and Saviour (2 Pet. 3:2); and The Word of God (Rev. 19:13).

These and many other names and titles in Scripture prove the Deity of Jesus Christ. Some of these are used hundreds of times in Scripture. We must believe in the divinity of Christ if we are going to believe the Bible.

2. DIVINE ATTRIBUTES ARE ASCRIBED TO HIM. This is clear from Phil. 2:5-11 where Paul speaks of Christ being in God's form and that He laid aside this form and limited His attributes and' powers as God to become a man. Then after His earthly limitation He had these powers given back to Him, as we shall see in Point VIII below.

3. DIVINE OFFICES ARE ASCRIBED TO HIM. HE is called the Creator (John 1:3; Col. 1:16; Heb. 1:1-3); Mediator (1 Tim. 2:4-5; Heb. 8:6); Head of the Church (Eph. 1:22; Col. 1:16-24); Saviour (2 Pet. 3:2); Judge (2 Tim. 4:1); Preserver (Heb. 1:1-3); Life Giver (John 10:28 ; 17:2); Lord and Christ (Acts 2:36); the Resurrection and the Life (John 11:25).

These and many other offices and works of Christ prove Him to be divine and one with the Father as part of the Deity. He is called the fellow and equal to God as to divinity (Zech. 13:7; John 5:17-23; 10:30-38; 17:10).

4. DIVINE CHARACTER IS ASCRIBED TO HIM. All ordinary men are sinners by nature (Ps. 51:5; Eph. 3:1-3; Rom. 5:12-21). Christ is holy by birth (Luke 1:35), righteous (Isa. 53:11; Heb. 1:9), faithful (Isa. 11:5; 1 Thess. 5:24), tree (John 1:14; 14:6), just (John 5:30), guileless (1 Pet. 2:22), sinless (2 Cor. 5:21), spotless (1 Pet. 1:19), innocent (Matt. 27:4), harmless (Heb. 7:26), obedient to God (John 15:10; Heb. 5:8-10) and to His earthly parents (Luke 2:51), zealots (John 2:17), meek (Matt. 11:29), lowly in heart (Matt. 11:29), merciful (Heb. 2:17), patient (Isa. 53:7), long-suffering (1 Tim. 1:16), compassionate (Matt. 15:32), benevolent (Acts 10:38), loving (John 15:13), self-denying (2 Cor. 8:9), humble (Phil. 2:5-11), resigned (Luke 22:42), and forgiving (Luke 23:34).

5. THE WORKS OF GOD ARE ASCRIBED TO HIM (John 1:3; Col. 1: 15-18; Heb. 1:1-3,10; John 5:19-23; Rev. 3:14).

This is what has made the difference between the members of the Godhead during the last nineteen hundred years. The following study concerns the person of the Lord Jesus Christ as the manifestation of the invisible God among men:  [the message]

...made the difference  between the   members   of the Godhead...   members  of  the Godhead?  I challenge any of you member of Bottf,  to show me one single verse of Scripture stating the above sentences.  it is not true.  it is of Satan.

that phrase,  members of the Godhead...are not once in Scripture.  Search and see.  It is not there.  difference in these members........where did Dakes find that?  Certainly not in Scripture.

Show me one verse saying Jesus was the manifestation of the invisible God among men.  It is not in the Scripture.

Freeborn,
Let me put it like this.

1. God
2. Jesus
3. Holy Spirit.

Would you say that Jesus is greater in power than God. God is the Father & Creator. That is why he is number one. Because he is above all. No one is before-or after HIM. Jesus is not greater than the Father. The Holy Spirit is not greater than Jesus or the Father. See how they line up? Tweety

Tweety,  they do not line up.  Where do you get that?  it is false concepts of man, satan.  It is not a concept from God.

listen... EQUALITY IS THE VERY HEART AND ESCENSE OF GOD.

God is a full kingdom,  made up of innumerable members,  all of equal value,  equal power, equal love, equal knowledge,  equal importance, equal in everything.....so equal, that we divided, jealous,  envious, finite,  stupid, hateful human beings  HAVE NOT ONE SINGLE CONCEPT OF SUCH A KINGDOM....and that is precisely WHY men drug up this false concept of lining up God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit,   (what about the Holy Ghost?)...where does he fit in with all of this?  why leave the Holy Ghost out?

Where did God say I am number one.... and the holy ghost is inferior,  and jesus is number two?  It is so ridiculous that there is no words for it.

(not against you ,dear,  you did not make up this false vomit.  You only fell prey to the lies of man)  But unless you allow God to open your understanding, you will fall with them.

This idea of being above the others, is a man's little stuff.......it is not of God.  Man has not one tiny concept in their conceit, about being EQUAL in all things...about unselfish LOVE and  UNITY.

But I am telling you,  this is how God is.  he is not lined up,   1   2   3,

Greater than....means more in number........not is ability.

Ok, Tweety.  I will do one more tonight,  then I am going to wait until another day to finish.  Then I want us to start another thread,  continuing this.  so these we have done will not get lost on a back page.  I want everyone here to study this.
All of this foolishness needs to be stopped.
It is high time men come to understand and BELIEVE the Written WORD OF GOD AND STOP  LISTENING TO THESE LIES OF MAN (SATAN).

It is high time to either prove things with Scripture, or get out of religion and forget it all.  either prove it or disprove it.  quoting verse numbers does not prove a thing.  It MUST say what  you are saying that it says.

If nothings which one doctrine says,  is actually stated in Scripture,  then accept the Fact  THAT IS IS MADE UP LIES.

So here is the last one tonight:

The Bible declares that the person we now know as Jesus Christ was one of the three divine persons of the Deity and that as God He had no beginning. It is this time before He became a man that we refer to as His pre-existence. Technically, there is no such thing as existence before Him as God, but He existed before He became a man. (the message)

Dakes said,  the Bible declares......so lets just see does the Bible declare what he said.?   .........the person  we now know as Jesus Christ was one   of   the   three  divine   persons  of   the deity.......so lets' either prove him true,  or prove him a lie.

Now it is your place and burden, to prove him true,  by showing me where the Bible DECLARES  this statement,  which Dakes said the Bible declares.

I say he lied.  the Word of God DOES NOT DECLARE ANY SUCH THING!  So prove me wrong.  where does it declare this:    Jesus  is   ONE   OF   THE  THREE DIVINE PERSONS OF   THE DEITY........SHOW ME ONE VERSE USING THIS TERM,  DIVINE  PERSONS....OR DEITY...OR  ONE OF THE THREE.  (the words I color different,  show me any of that in Scripture)

I  say  not   one  word of this sentence  Dakes said the Bible DECLARES.......is one time declared in Scripture.   If I am wrong,  give me the verse where it is declared.

where does the Bible declare that Jesus Christ was God?  show me that.  Where does the word say there was a time before he was a man.  show me that.

where does the bible use the term,  pre-existence?  I want to read that. (if it is true,  where is it written?)

where does the Bible say  Jesus existed BEFORE he became a man?

Now since Dakes so verhemently declared this,  where is Scripture?  See how men use their own words to lead others astray?  Not one word the man has said here  is once in Scripture.

So I declare  the man lied and the truth was not in him!  Prove me wrong.  else accept the truth of God's Word.

Jo

You or Dake show me one place that says Jesus was as God. It is not written. All I need is just one verse, please. Jesus said and I quote " I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last."

Philippians 2:5-11 (KJV)
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

This is when the prophecy of Gen. was fullfilled:  And God said, Let us make man in our image, this is when man was made in the image of God. Before Jesus was in the image of sinful man, now he is in the image of God. we will also be in the same image according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

That is very good, Axs, and so true.  I hope Tweety finds the time and is going to study out all my answers to this study.  If a person cannot find Scripture PROOF of what they believe and say, then that should show them it is not the truth of the Word.

Just because some big church or organazation, or some man writes his own study bible,  does not mean they have the truth.

Without the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, one does not have the anointing teaching them and they will come up with error every time.

1 Tim. 1:17 - Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

who is this referring to? Is this Jesus? I think not. Jesus was not eternal as man, neither was he immortal or invisible.

Did God have a beginning? I think not. Did God have a ending? Again, I think not. Did God have a Father, or mother ? Again I think not.

Did God have a beginning? Again I think not. Did God have a ending of Life? Again I think not.

The Word says that God was Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life.

Now, did Jesus have a beginning? Sure he did? Did Jesus have a ending? Sure he did. Did Jesus have a Father? Sure he did.

Did Jesus have a mother?  Sure he did. Did Jesus have an end to life. Sure he did.

And you say that Jesus was pre-existent? why anyone misses this is beyond my

Dear Freeborn,

I have read your messages and will defend Dake and his teachings here. He is not a false teacher of lies. He was a man of God. And I do not know how you can draw these conclusions from what I posted from his teachings. Now, let us get on with with. Let us deal with the first part of this. I have underlined every statement that he put in here. And we will look at each verse that he gives. I will be doing this in many parts. Since he has so many scriptural references and notes.

This will be part 1

It is this time before He became a man that we refer to as His pre-existence.

Freeborn,

This is what we will be discussing about, which is Jesus before he was sent to earth by GOD. If you will read again what Dake said above you will see that he said: Technically, there is no such thing as existence before Him as God. Dake is saying that Jesus was never GOD in a Pre-Incarnate form. If Dake had said something like that he would be saying that Jesus in his Pre-incarnate state would be God. Which he never claimed anywhere in scripture. But he is stating that the Man we know as Jesus existed in Spirit form in heaven.

But you must understand that He (Jesus) resided in Heaven before he was sent here. He was not flesh. He was glorified. We have discussed this before and we will get into again.

Now we will deal with the next statement above that Dake says. but He existed before He became a man. Mic. 5:1-2 speaks of Him as existing from all eternity.

Let us now look at this scripture closely. And we will look at his notes that go along with it.

Micah 5:1-2 (KJV)
1 Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.

Notes For Verse 1

a [Now gather thy self in troops, O daughter of troops ...] The 8th prophecy in Micah (Mic. 5:1-15; Mic. 5:1-2 fulfilled; Mic. 5:3-15 unfulfilled). Next, Mic. 6:13.

b [daughter of troops] Judah is here called "daughter of troops" because of her bands of men employed in highway robbery and bloodshed (Mic. 2:8; 3:2). The word "troops" is almost always used of such bands. Now they are called to resist the inroads of the invader entering Palestine and making war. The invader referred to was the Roman general who destroyed Jerusalem in 70 A.D. (Mic. 5:1; Lk. 21:20-24). This was the only power that laid siege to Jerusalem in the days of the first advent of the Messiah, when He was smitten on the cheek (Mt. 27:30).

c [they shall smite] They -- the mockers and persecutors of the Messiah, both Jews and Romans (Mt. 26:67; 27:30).

d [judge of Israel] Christ will not only be the Judge of Israel, but of all people (Mt. 25:31-46; Acts 17:31).

—Dake's Study Notes

2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

Notes For Verse 2

a [Bethlehem] Bethlehem was to be the birthplace of the Messiah; this was literally fulfilled (Mt. 2:1).

b [out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel] The Messiah was to come from Judah (Gen. 49:10); this was also literally fulfilled (Mt. 1:1-18; Lk. 3:23-38; Heb. 7:14; Rev. 5:5).

c [ruler in Israel] Christ will be the eternal Ruler of Israel and all other nations (Isa. 9:6-7; Ezek. 43:7; Dan. 7:13-14; Zech. 14:1-5,9,16-21; Lk. 1:32-33; Rev. 11:15; 20:1-10; 22:4-5). Already there has been a period of nearly 2,000 years between His coming from Judah as man, and His coming from heaven to be the Ruler of Israel and others. There are many scriptures that plainly teach the two comings of the Messiah -- once to be born and to die for the redemption of men, and again as the King to rule (Isa. 9:6-7; 52:13-15; 61:1-2; Zech. 9:9-10).

d [whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting] The person who was to be born in Bethlehem of the tribe of Judah of the nation of Israel was to be God -- an eternal Being "whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting" (Mic. 5:2; Isa. 9:6-7; Jn. 1:1-3, 14; Heb. 1:8; Rev. 1:8; 2:8; 22:13). As man He had a beginning, was begotten, and was brought into being; but as God He had no beginning, was not begotten, and did not come into being (note, Acts 13:33).

—Dake's Study Notes

Now let us look at the next thing that Dakes says:

John speaks of Him as existing in the very beginning with the Father (John 1:1-5).

John 1:1-5 (KJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Chapter 1

Notes For Verse 1

a [beginning] Greek: arche (GSN-<G746>), beginning, origin, first. The dateless past (Gen. 1:1; Pr. 8:23).

b [Word] Greek: logos (GSN-<G3056>) (see note, Acts 1:1). The Word refers to Christ (Jn. 1:14; Rev. 19:13) and proves His pre-existence (Mic. 5:1-2; Rev. 1:8,11; 2:8; 22:13-16). He is an eternal Being as are also the Father and the Holy Spirit (Ps. 90:1-2; Heb. 9:14). They make the Divine Trinity (1Jn. 5:7).

c [was God] Not only was the Word with God, but He was God and always will be as much divine as the other two members of the Trinity (Ps. 45:6-7; Isa. 9:6-7; Jn. 1:1; Heb. 1:8-12; Rev. 1:8,11; 22:13-16).

Notes For Verse 3

a [by him] God created all things by Jesus Christ (Eph. 3:9; Col. 1:15-18; Heb. 1:1-2).

Notes For Verse 4

a [life] Not only were all things created by him, but redemption of creation is by him (Jn. 17:2; Col. 1:20). As all creation came by the Son, through the Holy Spirit, so all redemption comes the same way. It was what Christ did on the cross that made it possible for God to redeem through the power of the Holy Spirit (Jn. 3:3-5; Tit. 3:5).

Notes For Verse 5

a [comprehended] Greek: katalambano (GSN-<G2638>), to seize upon; to keep down or under; stop; to catch up with in the sense of to discover or detect. It means that the satanic powers of darkness (Eph. 6:12) did not overcome the Word, but that the Word spoiled them on the cross (Col. 2:14-17).

—Dake's Study Notes

Jesus speaks of Himself as being before Abraham and before the world was created (John 8:58; 17:5, 24).

John 8:58 (KJV)
58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Notes For Verse 58

a [I am] This is one of the eternal names of God, proving that He existed before Abraham (Ex. 3:14-15; Mic. 5:1-2; Jn. 1:1-2; see note, Jn. 8:24). The Jews understood that He applied this name to Himself, thus declaring His deity.

—Dake's Study Notes

John 17:5 (KJV)
5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

Notes For Verse 5

a [before the world was] A plain reference to His self-emptying (Php. 2:7, notes). Here He refers to three experiential states:

1. Eternal pre-existence (Mic. 5:1-2; Jn. 1:1-2; Rev. 1:8,11; 2:8; 22:13; Col. 1:15-18)

2. Earthly self-emptying (Lk. 2:40,52; Jn. 1:14; Php. 2:5-11; Heb. 1:3-9; 2:9-18; 4:14-16; 5:7)

3. Restored glory (Jn. 17:5; Mt. 28:18; Eph. 1:20-23; Php. 2:9-11; 1Pet. 3:22; Heb. 12:2; Rev. 3:21)

John 17:24 (KJV)
24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

Notes For Verse 24

a [before the foundation of the world] The second statement here of His preexistence (Jn. 17:5, note).

Freeborn,

This is part 2 of this discussion here. Tweety

Paul speaks of Him as existing before all things and as the Creator and Upholder of all things (Col. l:15-18 Heb. 1:1-3, 8; 2:10).

Colossians 1:15-20 (KJV)
15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

Notes For Verse 15

a [image] Greek: eikon (GSN-<G1504>), a figure; image; likeness. Here it means outward and bodily image (Mt. 22:20; Mk. 12:16; Lk. 20:24; Rom. 1:23; 1Cor. 11:7; 15:49; 2Cor. 4:4; Col. 1:15; Heb. 10:1; Rev. 13:14-15; 14:9-11; 15:2; 16:2; 19:20; 20:4). It is used only three times of moral and spiritual likeness (Rom. 8:29; 2Cor. 3:18; Col. 3:10). That God has a body, a spirit body, like angels and other spirit beings is clear from note, Jn. 4:24.

b [invisible]

Invisibility

Greek: aoratos (GSN-<G517>), invisible (Col. 1:15-16; Rom. 1:20; 1Tim. 1:17; Heb. 11:27). The word means not in sight, unseen, concealed. Invisibility consists more of distance than substance. Cities or other material objects cannot be seen even 30 miles away. At this distance they are invisible. Objects concealed are invisible. Anything out of eyesight is invisible. God, angels, and other spirit beings are thus invisible. They can appear or disappear at will. They have been seen with the natural eyes many times, proving that invisiblity must be understood with them as with all other invisible things that can become visible.

c [firstborn of every creature]

Firstborn of Creation

Greek: prototokos (GSN-<G4416>), firstborn (Col. 1:15,18; Mt. 1:25; Lk. 2:7; Rom. 8:29; Heb. 11:28; 12:23) and firstbegotten (Heb. 1:6; Rev. 1:5). It is used of Jesus the firstborn of Mary (Mt. 1:25; Lk. 2:7) and of the firstborn of Egyptians (Heb. 11:28). It means the first one born in the family. It must also be understood in this literal sense in connection with Jesus being the firstborn in God's family. However, Sonship in this case refers to humanity and not to deity (note, Acts 13:33) These facts must be understood in connection with the following:

1. The only begotten of the Father (Jn. 1:14)

2. The only begotten Son (Jn. 1:18)

3. His only begotten Son (Jn. 3:16; 1Jn. 4:9)

4. The only begotten Son of God (Jn. 3:18)

5. This day have I begotten Thee (Ps. 2:7; Acts 13:33; Heb. 1:5; 5:5).

6. I will be to Him a Father, and He shall be to Me a Son (Heb. 1:5).

It Is Used of Jesus:

1. As the firstborn of every creature (Col. 1:15)

2. Firstborn from the dead (Col. 1:18)

3. Firstborn of many brethren (Rom. 8:29)

4. The Head of the church of the firstborn (Heb. 12:23)

5. His firstbegotten (Heb. 1:5-6)

6. Firstbegotten of the dead (Rev. 1:5)

With these facts it is clear in what sense Jesus is "the firstborn of every creature" or of all creation (Col. 1:15), and "the firstborn among many brethren" (Rom. 8:29). All creation came into existence by creative acts, not by a begetting as in the case of Jesus. Even the "many brethren" are not begotten in the sense Jesus was by the Holy Spirit. They were begotten by people, not by God, and were thus brought into the human family, not the family of God. The only way one gets into God's family is by adoption (Rom. 8:14-16; Gal. 4:5-6; Eph. 1:5). Jesus is the only begotten Son ... the first of all creatures to be begotten of God, the only one of all beings begotten of God, the first and only one of the family of adopted and "created" brethren begotten of God (Eph. 4:24; Col. 3:10), the firstbegotten of or from the dead, and the firstfruit of the resurrection of all men (1Cor. 15:23-33; Col. 1:18; Rev. 1:5). The church is the called-out people of the one who is the firstborn (Heb. 12:23). Adam and angels were by creation, not by begetting (Lk. 3:38; Gen. 6:1-4; Job 1:6; 38:4-7)

—Dake's Study Notes

Notes For Verse 16

a [by him were all things created] The person we now know as Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, existed as an equal member of the Godhead from all eternity (Isa. 7:14; 9:6-7; Mic. 5:2; Jn. 1:1-2; Heb. 1:8; Rev. 1:8-11). Before He became God's Son (sonship refers to humanity, not to deity, note, Acts 13:33). He was a spirit being and carried out the divine plan of creation. He was the direct agent of God the Father who created all things by Him (Isa. 9:6; Jn. 1:3; Eph. 3:9; Heb. 1:3)

b [that are in heaven, and that are in earth] This proves that the heavens and the things in them are just as material as those on earth (Gen. 1:1; Prov. 8:27).

c [invisible] Invisible things are made up of material substance which is visible in its own realm. Created things -- including spirit beings as angels, cherubim, seraphim, etc. -- are all of material substance. Some substances are of higher type than others. Though all are visible in their own realms, some may not be visible to others of lower realms. Spirit beings are of a higher substance than flesh and blood beings and ordinary material that we see. They are not limited to ordinary substances as we know it, for they can go through closed doors, walls, and other material objects, as proved by what is recorded in Scripture of angels and others. Even the material, spiritual, and immortal body of Christ, a real flesh-and-bone body (Lk. 24:39), can go through material walls without an opening (Jn. 20:19; Lk. 24:31,35-43). If this is true of angels and resurrected human bodies, could it not be true of God and the Holy Spirit who are spirit beings? See notes on Jn. 4:24.

d [all things were created by him, and for him] This is the chief end of all creation (Col. 1:16-18; Eph. 3:9-11; Rev. 4:11; 5:13-14).

Notes For Verse 17

a [And he is before all things] He is an eternal being (Isa. 7:14; 9:6-7; Mic. 5:1-2; Jn. 1:1-2; Heb. 1:8; Rev. 1:8-11; Ps. 90:2).

b [by him all things consist] Not only did He create all things (note a, Col. 1:16), but all things are held together by Him (Heb. 1:3).

Notes For Verse 18

a [And he is the head of the body] Mt. 16:18; 1Cor. 12:12-13,27; Eph. 1:22; 4:15; 5:23-33; Col. 1:18,24.

b [the church] There is no difference between the church and the body of Christ, as is clear from the following in Scripture: "the church, which is His body" (Eph. 1:22-23); "He is head of the body, the church" (Col. 1:18); "His body's sake, which is the church" (Col. 1:24).

c [who is the beginning] Jn. 1:1-2; Rev. 1:8-11; 2:8; 3:14.

d [firstborn from the dead] See note, Col. 1:15; Rev. 1:5; 1Cor. 15:20.

e [that in all things he might have the preeminence] Eph. 1:20-23; Php. 2:9-11; Col. 1:18-19; 2:9; Heb. 1:3; Mt. 28:18; 1Pet. 3:22.

 Hebrews 1:1-3 (KJV)
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Chapter 1

Notes For Verse 1

a [God] This is God the Father, the head of Christ and the Holy Spirit (1Cor. 8:6; 11:3; Mt. 28:19; 2Cor. 13:14; Eph. 4:4-6; 1Jn. 5:7).

b [sundry times and in divers manners] In many parts in many ways (Isa. 28:10). From all these portions we get a perfect harmony, as in musical sounds made up of different parts. There is only one plan of God for man. All the prophets gave perfect and harmonious testimony that Jesus Christ was the Son of God and Savior of the world (Acts 10:43).

c [in time past] Greek: palai (GSN-<G3819>), of old. Here; Mt. 11:21; Mk. 15:44; Lk. 10:13; 2Pet. 1:9; Jude 1:4.

d [by] Greek: en (GSN-<G1722>), in the prophets. The Holy Spirit indwelt the prophets and spoke through them in the same manner He dwells in men today (note, Lk. 22:3). That men in Old Testament days had the Holy Spirit is clear. See Old Testament Spiritual Experiences.

Christ Better than Prophets

1. Creator of prophets (Heb. 1:1-3)

2. Lord and Master of prophets (Heb. 1:1-2; Mt. 22:41-46; 1Pet. 1:10-13)

3. Only begotten Son of God (Heb. 1:1-3; Jn. 1:18; 3:16-20)

4. God manifest in flesh (Jn. 1:14)

5. Sinless (1Pet. 2:21-22)

6. Had greater anointing (Jn. 3:34)

7. Fulfillment of their writings (Lk. 24:25,44-45; 1Pet. 1:10-13)

8. Heir of all things (Heb. 1:2)

9. Planner of the ages (Heb. 1:2)

10. Brightness of God's glory (Heb. 1:3)

11. Express image of God's person (Heb. 1:3; Php. 2:5-11)

12. Upholder of all things (Heb. 1:3)

13. God's perfect sacrifice (Heb. 1:3,9; 9:11-28; 10:1-18)

14. Savior of prophets (Heb. 1:3; 7:25; 1Pet. 1:10-13)

15. Exalted higher than prophets (Heb. 1:3; 1Pet. 3:22)

Notes For Verse 2

a [last days] See Fourteen End-Time Expressions.

b [by] Greek: en (GSN-<G1722>), as in note d, Heb. 1:1. There is no definite article here and no pronoun "his". It simply reads, "in Son," emphasizing not only His sonship, but that He is the only Son in the sense of being begotten (Jn. 1:14,18; 3:16,18). Under the Old Testament there were many parts, ways, and persons used in speaking to men, but in the New Testament all was done through the Son who fulfilled the law and the prophets and made the new covenant (Mt. 26:28; Acts 1:2).

c [Son]

Eight Facts about Christ - Chart 1

1. Spokesman for God (Heb. 1:2)

2. Appointed heir of all things (Heb. 1:2)

3. Planner of the worlds (ages, Heb. 1:2)

4. Brightness of God's glory (Heb. 1:3)

5. Express (exact) image of God's Person (Heb. 1:3)

6. Upholder of all creations (Heb. 1:3)

7. Savior of the world -- purged sins (Heb. 1:3)

8. Ascension and exaltation (Heb. 1:3)

d [appointed] Greek: tithemi (GSN-<G5087>), appoint (Heb. 1:2; Mt. 24:51; Lk. 12:46; 2Tim. 1:11; 1Pet. 2:8); ordain (Jn. 15:16; 1Tim. 2:7); set forth Jn. 2:10).

e [heir of all things] Rom. 8:17-18; 1Pet. 1:4; Acts 26:18.

f [worlds] Greek: aion (GSN-<G165>), age -- a period of time whether long or short. Translated "world" (Heb. 1:2; Mt. 12:32; 13:39, note); "age" (Eph. 2:7; Col. 1:26); "course" (Eph. 2:2); and other ways. Here it means Christ was the agent in planning the ages and making God's plan for man. In this sense He is the everlasting Father (Isa. 9:6). He not only planned the ages, but all creations (Col. 1:15-18; Jn. 1:3; Eph. 3:9).

Notes For Verse 3

a [brightness] Greek: apaugasma (GSN-<G541>), reflection. Only here.

b [glory] Greek: doxa (GSN-<G1391>), translated "glory" 145 times (Heb. 1:3; 2:7,9,10; 3:3; 9:5; 13:21); "glorious" (Rom. 8:21; 2Cor. 4:4; Php. 3:21; Col. 1:11); "praise" (Jn. 9:24; 12:43; 1Pet. 4:11); "honor" (Jn. 5:41,44; 8:54; 2Cor. 6:8; Rev. 19:7); "worship" (Lk. 14:10); and "dignity" (2Pet. 2:10; Jude 1:8).

c [express image] Greek: character (GSN-<G5481>), exact expression, or impression as when metal is pressed into a die, or as a seal upon wax. Only here.

d [person] Greek: hupostasis (GSN-<G5287>), person (Heb. 1:3); substance (Heb. 11:1); confidence (2Cor. 11:17; Heb. 3:14); and confident (2Cor. 9:4). Here it refers to essential substance or that which constitutes deity in body, soul, and spirit.

e [word of his power] By His word of power all things are upheld and sustained eternally.

f [by himself purged our sins] By His atonement sins are purged, not by water baptism, the Lord's Supper, or any other ritual or form of religion (Mt. 26:28; Rom. 3:24-25; 5:1-11; Col. 1:14-22; Heb. 9:22; 1Jn. 1:7-9; 1Pet. 1:18-23; 2:24; Rev. 1:5; 5:8-10).

g [sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high] Mt. 26:64; Mk. 16:19; Acts 2:33-34; 7:56; Rom. 8:34; Eph. 1:20; Col. 3:1; Heb. 1:3,13; 8:1; 12:2; 1Pet. 2:22.

Freeborn,
This will complete this study of the first statement that Dake has made. I will now move on to the secon discussion of this. Tweety

Hebrews 1:8 (KJV)
8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

Notes For Verse 8

a [Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever ...] The 4th Old Testament prophecy in Hebrews (Heb. 1:8-9; Ps. 45:6-7, unfulfilled). Next, Heb. 1:10.

b [sceptre] A rod or staff and a symbol of power and government (Ps. 2:9; Rev. 2:27).

—Dake's Study Notes

Hebrews 2:10 (KJV)
10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

Notes For Verse 10

a [became him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory] It was suitable to divine wisdom and justice and the program of grace to offer Jesus as a sacrifice in order to bring many sons to glory.

b [captain of their salvation] The Originator of salvation. Without suffering He could not have died; without dying He could not have made atonement for sin; and without completing His redemptive work He could not have been perfected.

c [perfect] Greek: teleioo (GSN-<G5048>), make a full end; complete. The idea is that Christ could not have been made complete or bring to a complete end the work He was supposed to do without His sufferings (note, Php. 3:12).

—Dake's Study Notes

God the Father created all things by Him (Eph. 3:9) and the Holy Spirit (Gen. 1:2).

Ephesians 3:9 (KJV)
9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

Notes For Verse 9

a [fellowship] Greek: koinonia (GSN-<G2842>), signifying a fellowship or a religious community (note, 2Cor. 13:14). Other Greek: texts read oikonomia (GSN-<G3622>), stewardship, dispensation of the mystery of Christ (Eph. 3:3-6).

b [world] Greek: aion (GSN-<G165>), ages; beginning of the ages.

c [who created all things by Jesus Christ] God created all things by Jesus Christ (Jn. 1:3; Col. 1:15-18).

—Dake's Study Notes

and the Holy Spirit (Gen. 1:2).

Genesis 1:2 (KJV)
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

*Gen 1:2 is getting into another subject. So I will not put the notes of that verse here.

Tweety,  I cannot deal with this in this fashion.

Either you must take my posts, one at a time and deal with the statements I showed proving that none of the words of Dakes are once written in Scripture, or I cannot show a thing.

If you just ignore everything I have shown you, and continue to just post many of his things, without dealing with where I PROVED that none of his words are right, then it is going to get us nowhere to do this study.

I have shown you over and over that none of his words are Scriptural.  If you just ignore this, you will never  ever  come out of that darkness of false teachings.

As I read things on other groups, at how mixed up people are, trying to fit men's lying doctrines into the Scriptures,  I see nothing but a shame.  People either do not study the Word,  or they simply do not have anything to do with the Holy Ghost, the anointing to teach them, or they are just plain too dumb to understand plain English!

People have absolutely no understanding at all,  I mean not one tiny bit of knowledge of what the word ONENESS  means.  this ignorance darkens their entire mind and keeps them fumbling around in total darkness and stumbling over each other as they grope for light but can find none.

They think that because they see words which seem to be equating Jesus with the nature of God,  (as he most certainly did have, because of his sinless life).. then they must try to fit this into men's false doctrine of a divine trinity,  three divine folks,  or Jesus is the one and only one.

Now that is where every single person I see is.  They are either trying to fit the ONENESS of God and his creation, into the Jesus-only lie, or the trinity LIE.

Neither one is truth.  Neither one is written in Scripture,  yet men insist one trying make the harmony between Jesus and His Father,  God,   fit into one of these lies.  it will never work.

I wish to help you find truth.  But you are going to have to want to and be willing to study this stuff out.  That does not mean posting long lists of what Dakes said.

I am not one bit interested in what Dakes said,  except to show you where he was wrong.  He had no truth and he will never teach me.  As long as you set his words up as God's word, you will remain in this darkness.

Until you seek for and receive the Baptism of the Holy Ghost and allow the HG to teach you by opening your understanding,  you will remain in the dead, dark religion of confusion by man's lies.

NowI know this may sound hard,  but it is not what I am meaning.  I simply wish to show you that this method of doing things is not going to get to any truth.  I am not going to sit here hours on end,  trying to sift through miles of Dakes notes and show you how he misused all those Scriptures, to deceive with.  I already did that and you just ignored it all.

But I am willing to take one thing at a time and show you it is not as he said.  I have already showed you that NOT ONE WORD THE MAN WROTE WAS IN SCRIPTURE

Does this not matter to you?  Will you not get concerned with learning truth enoughto seek to prove if this is true or not?
If nothing these people are saying is written in Scripture,  then know that it is lies and not God's words.  It is Satan's words.

Trinity,  three divine persons,  incarnate,  pre-existent, and all such things are of Satan, for it is not once mentioned in God's Word.

So this proves that men/women  are not understanding one thing in Scripture rightly.  For they cannot make sense of what is written.  they must come up with already made-up doctrine to try to discern the simplest things in the Word.

Trying to figure out how Jesus was in existence before he came to earth, is totally futile and a total waste of time,  for it is not in the Word.

Trying to figure out when the rapture takes place is totally a waste of time,  for there is no such thing.

Trying to figure out how the 'three divine' persons fit into everything is a total waste of time,  for there is no such thing.

Trying to figure out how a baby in a manager is Jehovah God is a total waste of time,  for it is lies of Satan.

Trying to figure out when the seven years tribulation will be is a waste of time, for there is no such thing.

See??????????

How much of people's discussions is trying to figure out things which are not once mentioned in Scripture.

That is where you all are.  Trying to figure out things which God never once said.

What do you wish to do?
JO
