I am not saying much right now on this subject, but thought it would make an interesting and good study.  So all who will jump in here and let's bring out all we can on this subject of what are our spiritual weapons and how to we use them to tear down the strong hold's of Satan.

I would say that prayer and faith are the number one weapons.  Through prayer and faith we can sit on the throne with kings and help make decisions.  He will never even know what took place.

Paul said to put on the whole ARMOUR of God to be able to stand in the battle.  We are in a battle against all of Satan's strongholds.  We have on the helmet of salvation and the armour of the Word of God by which we can quinch all the firy darts of Satan.  He shoots at us through critical words from friends and loved ones.  He shoots at us by people we try to teach when they would rather fight and hit at us than to study and learn.

We must have patience and understanding to deal with them in the right way.  Sometimes we need to be kind and soft; other times (depending on what the circumstances are)~~ we need to tough and put them down with our gun of truth.

Teaching truth is the greatest way to rescue those whom Satan has imprisoned.  Let us rise up and pray and teach the truth.  Work while it is day, for the night comes when we will not be able to work.

Love to you all,

Joie

Ephes. 6:14
    Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

Ephes. 6:15
    And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Ephes. 6:16
    Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

Ephes. 6:17
    And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Isaiah 11:5
    And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

Isaiah 59:17
    For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke.

At the time the Apostle Paul wrote about the elements of the armor of God, he was using examples taken from the body armor a Roman soldier was wearing. When he explained that we need to have our "loins girt about with truth", he was referring to the "girdle" the Roman soldier wore to keep his loose fitting tunic tight to his body.

Paul saw what a hindrance having loose fitting clothing flapping around in the breeze was, and he began to make analogies to the Christian life.

In Paul's estimation, one of the main things the Christian has to do to prepare for spiritual battle, is to make sure we have our "girdles" on. Girdles? For what? You May Ask, This is a spiritual battle, is it not? Why are we worrying about loose fitting clothing?

Well, we're not. We are worrying about other loose things that hinder us in battling the devil and his principalities. Loose things like our tongue mainly. Considering that Paul replaces the physical girdle for the believer as being "TRUTH", we can begin to see where he is going with this.

Loose fitting tongues lead to the telling of untruths. Whether it be idle religious chattering, or flat out lies, it is all unprofitable and useful for the devil to use against us. We need to gather ourselves up tightly with the girdle of truth, so that we can be more fully prepared to defeat the demonic forces in battle.

We need to put away all hypocritical gossip, lying, slandering, and any other type of speaking that brings dishonor upon ourselves and Jesus Christ, so that by doing so we literally disarm evil with truth.

May God Richly Bless You...Love In Christ...Joylee.

2 Corinthians 10

10:3*****For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

10:4 ***(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

10:5 ****Casting down imaginations,and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Our warfare is against spiritual forces of wickedness ( Eph. 6:12)

6:12*** For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places

So we in the flesh can do nothing. Makes no difference how much talent we have, how much money we have, how much ability we have. This is inadequate to pull down the stronghold of Satan. The only weapons adequate to destroy Satan and his unrighteousness and false teachings are those which God gives us.

These are the most powerful weapons that man has ever seen. These weapons are so powerful because they come from God. These weapons as stated in Ephesians 6: 11 - 19 as was stated in the post above.

By using these weapons against the enemy we can come forth victorious. The church world today are trying by the carnal weapons. We must realize that this is spiritual warfare. We must stay in the word of God and with prayer. Praying in the spirit always with supplication for all saints.

Luke 18
18:1
And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; ( Prayer can help us overcome the enemy.)

We must pray and ask God to bring down all these strongholds where Satan sits. We must cry out against evil.

Isaiah and Joylee, thank you both for these good messages.  God is leading us into more and more truth.  I saw this as I read Joylee's message:  the loose tongue is the one who teaches false things.  When the Word said a  wholesome  tongue is a tree of life, this is referring to the mouth which speaks the truth of God's Word exactly as the Word teaches it.

Therefore we must all be very careful to see that what we believe and teach is  EXACTLY as it is Written in the Word.

If one is not very, very careful, you will swallow down false doctrine = lies~~~~ simply because it has been handed down by church after church, has a long time of being told, and is believed by the majority.

When has the majority every been right?   NEVER.

Jesus said only a  FEW will find the STRAIGHT, NARROW WAY WHICH LEADS TO ETERNAL LIFE.

So look around you; both at the Word and at the church world.  What does the majority believe?  Is it written in the Word just as they say it?

If not, flee;  run for your life; your eternal life.
Be willing to listen to those who teach you something different;  they just might have heard from God.  They just might be telling you the truth.

Remember, the majority is never right.

Not when it come to spiritual things.

Jo

This is another great discussion I found.  I love to go back and review all these wonderful messages we did in the past.  It is food anew.  so come to the feast and dine.

I agree that this is certainly a good study.  I like this teacyhing about the different garments being of a spiritual nature.   But that one about holding down loose clothes sure took me aback a bit.  Is that wha it really is for?

I thought a gridle was for the purpose of protecting and strengthing the back?  maybe I am wrong,  but the thought of wearing it on the outsideed to hold down loose clotehs is strange to me.

not studied it out though,  just goind on my my own thoughts, which aint so good at times.

anyway putting on the whole armour of God to win the battle is good.

but why then do so many people claim that we must not war and battle?  it seems from this that it is taught in the bible.  i think we must even battle our ownselves a lot.
guess that is what Paul meant about keeping his body under subjection.

there is a great differnec in battling false theaching, and turning the other cheedk when someone does us wrong.  guess that one is hard for some people to get the difference on.
