I do not know if there is any truth to this, or not. But I read on another web site, that Windows is going to drop MSN, and our sites will either be done away with or have to be moved to another type of groups. When I clicked onto some links which was supposed to be telling about this, I picked up a bunch of Trojans and hijacks, which messed up my computer. I have had to do a lot of work to straighten it out. So be careful how you check on this. |

Joie, I also found this, sent you a email before I looked here. Did not know you had posted it. So I will post it here also.
Can not say it is truth. From what I am seeing and I could be wrong is that msn is closing all the adult sites and chat rooms. The chat rooms which it already has closed.

Joyce, the posting you saw is a hoax. MSN Groups is not closing down and Microsoft has no plans of decommissioning MSN Groups at this time.
Microsoft has no control over email messages, Web sites, or postings that imitate company trademarks, logos, or copyrighted materials. The sources of these hoaxes only attempt to spread malicious rumors about Microsoft and may sometimes even encourage people to divulge personal information willingly. This information is frequently used maliciously or fraudulently.
To avoid the spread of these types of information, we advise you to delete any email you receive, or disregard postings on MSN Groups regarding this rumor.
Any important announcement from Microsoft about MSN Groups will be posted at the MSN Groups homepage (http://groups.msn.com).
On the other hand, it is true that Windows Live Groups is coming in the future, but it is a separate product. As of this time, we do not have any information yet about the features of Windows Live Groups.

It is true that we are planning to close the MSN Groups service on February 21, 2009 and will offer you the opportunity to move your group to our new partner service, Multiply. We understand the importance of keeping your group together, so we partnered with Multiply to create a migration process that moves your group to their service to preserve your online community and its history. <o:p></o:p>

The migration method that Multiply has built for you is still in the beta stage, we plan to open it next week. Thank you, Larry, for giving us this information. I intend to start taking down the size of Bottf's messages. I have intended to do this a good while, but really did not wish to delete too much which has been part of our messages. But since this is in the making, I will prodeed. Most of the back stuff is of no real value to us now, anyway. I hope to spend a few days deleting out old stuff, which is of no real value to scripture teaching anyway. Then I can get through the pages much faster to see if I can find any of my messages which I do not have saved. I truly would be heart-broken the rest of my life, If I should loose any of these precious messages, which God has given to me. I know I could never re-do any of them. Also, I truly want all of them in print, and I am far from that. so it will be a lot of work, in a short period of time. |
