From: joie (Original Message) | Sent: 7/21/2003 12:50 PM | Luke 24: 25. Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: 26. Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? 27. And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. 28. And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further. 29. But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them. 30. And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. 31. And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. 32. And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? | | V24. Why is he calling them 'fools'? Why is he saying they were slow of heart to believe all which the prophets said? Because under the law they could not see it; they could not understand it. See that they had to have their UNDERSTANDING opened. This proves they did not have any understanding while under the law. They could not see, or UNDERSTAND what the Prophets really were saying. It is the same today. People still under the law, are blinded to the truth. That makes them fools, slow of heart to believe truth. Now v27--Jesus teaches them Moses and the Prophets... but he is teaching them something they never saw before in Moses and the Prophets... he is opening their UNDERSTANDING to a new tongue in the Scriptures. He showed them something in words which they knew by memory, but had never truly seen or UNDERSTOOD what these words said. It is the same today for those still clinging to law. They cannot UNDERSTAND truth. They 'see' one thing in Moses, and I see something totally different. For Moses teaches me grace; he teaches them law. One is life, the other is death. V32.....He OPENED to them the SCRIPTURES. They had never UNDERSTOOD THE SCRIPTURES BEFORE. They had read them, heard them taught, lived by them, but now they are being taught a NEW LANGUAGE of the Scriptures--- they are being taught a new concept.... Grace. I posted this under another thread, but feel that sometimes people might read a new message whereas they will not look down a long thread and find a thing. (Me , I want to read them all, but others may not) so I thought this one too good to be overlooked. So here it is.

And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? Now read what is REALLY being said here: Jesus EXPOUNDED (explained) ALL the Scriptures (none were written at this time except O.T. writtings.)---- but Jesus expounded in all the prophets and Moses books the things concerning himself. In other words, Jesus took the O.T. Books and brought them UP-TO-DATE: meaning he explained them from the New Covenant. See then, that every written Word of God is taught as New Covenant. Moses wrote the New Covenant. Isaiah wrote the New Covenant. But it was not understood until Jesus resurrected and TAUGHT it to them for the N.T. Paul said in one place that he only said what the Scriptures say; ---- he quoted from the O.T. Books for every thing he said---- yet he was teaching Grace = New Covenant. So the O.T. Books must be taught for the N.T. He said they had polluted God's table --- how? Because they taught it as Old Covenant. They understood it as LAW. Today it is polluted bread because of the same reason --YOU ARE TEACHING THE WHOLE BOOK. O.T. AND N.T. BOOKS AS OLD COVENANT = LAW. BY THIS YOU ARE GUILTY. YOU ARE GUILTY OF POLLUTING THE BREAD, THE WORD OF GOD BY SAYING IT IS LAW. IT WAS NEVER LAW. IT WAS ALWAYS GRACE; BUT THEY COULD NOT SEE IT AS GRACE; THE SAME WORDS USED TO TEACH LAW; JESUS TOOK AND OPENED THEIR UNDERSTANDING THAT IT WAS GRACE. Jesus opened their UNDERSTANDING that it was ALWAYS GRACE; IT WAS NEVER LAW...... THEY ONLY PERCEIVED IT TO BE LAW...... THEREFORE THEY HAD NO FAITH.......and without faith it is IMPOSSIBLE to PLEASE God.

I was just reading this thread; it is so good. I also noticed that in this message I had gotten onto the 'tongue' stuff. It is becoming more and more clear, this tongue is the message of Grace. He sat at 'meat' = the new or deep understanding of the Word,,,,, and he blessed it (this was done by his death and resurrection)---then he BRAKE it down into bites they could take a little at a time and begin to understand this new tongue or grace........then he GAVE it to them...... and with this broken bread being given to them, their EYES were opened. Their understanding was opened. Glory to God.

All I can say is WOW! Thank God for allowing me to find this today. I am telling you all, we have so much great MEAT in this group! We cannot retain all of this truth. This is so great to me today. I had forgotten all of this. It is again FOOD FOR MY SOUL. Glory to my God. Thank God for Grace, the children's MEAT, or FLESH. Jo |
