John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (see, the holy ghost is our teacher. We do not need that law to teach us.) See, that verse shows that the Father sends the Holy Ghost in the name of Jesus. So it was not the Holy Ghost in the OT. It was Holy Spirit. We must receive the HOLY GHOST, for this is the spirit which works in the name of Jesus. Those who reject, ‘Holy Ghost?are rejecting the authority of Jesus Christ. This is weret the power is invested, so they hate it. John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. That proves we must ask in the name of Jesus to receive something from the Father. He set Jesus in authority and is not going to dishonor this decision of his. John 16:23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. John 16:24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. Verse 24 proves that up until that time, they had not asked anything in the name of Jesus. It had not been established, yet, that Jesus was the name of authority in this earth. So, the disciples had not been asking in the name of Jesus. After Jesus was given authority as headship over man, then everything we do, including baptism, must be done in the Name of Jesus Christ, to be valid. All who refuse this, are rebelling against God the Father. John 16:26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: Verse 26, is of utmost importance. Why? It shows that at THAT day, ye shall ask in my name. What day? The day in which God set Jesus up on the throne of God as the ruling headship over mankind. This is why the NT church, the true Christians, are not under the beast head of mankind; the seven headed beast of Revelation, which is just a revival of the four kingdoms in Daniel, the headship of man, from Adam down through Moses. We are not of that beast with the ten horns, those ten commandments. No matter how many hate this, it is still the truth of God’s word. Jo Smith |
