I hope this doesn't upset you but I have a question about a Post you have here. I Just wanted to Know where God said that prophets would be no more in the Bible. I know you had a bad experience with some , I just never read that before in the Bible and was curious where it was. thanks

Hello Lynn,

I do thank you for joining here and asking this question. This is the nobel way to go at things of God. This will take a bit of doing if you are not yet familar with the fall of the OT.

Please, If you are serious in desiring to know this truth, give me some time to explain this to you. It is not something which you can just grasp with a few sentences.

Right now I am very tied up between my work, and some personal things going one. But I will prove this to you and any other thing I teach if you desire.

I am not out of the word of God in anything I teach.
I assume you came here from the 'company of prophets' site?

If so, Let me tell you that I posted a long message there this evening, to the person who lied and said that I am claiming to be Jesus Christ. I do not teach that.

She would not post my message. I say this is cowardly and dirty. She allows them to slander me, lie about me and yet not allow me to answer in my own defense. This is NOT CHRISTIAN.

She fixed it so the posts have to be approved by her, so I could not post. I have unjoined that evil site.

Now I am going to post a bit of verses here from Lam. 2

footstool in the day of his anger!
La 2:2 The Lord hath swallowed up all the habitations of Jacob, and hath not pitied: he hath thrown down in his wrath the strong holds of the daughter of Judah; he hath brought them down to the ground: he hath polluted the kingdom and the princes thereof.
La 2:3 He hath cut off in his fierce anger all the horn of Israel: he hath drawn back his right hand from before the enemy, and he burned against Jacob like a flaming fire, which devoureth round about.
La 2:4 He hath bent his bow like an enemy: he stood with his right hand as an adversary, and slew all that were pleasant to the eye in the tabernacle of the daughter of Zion: he poured out his fury like fire.
La 2:5 The Lord was as an enemy: he hath swallowed up Israel, he hath swallowed up all her palaces: he hath destroyed his strong holds, and hath increased in the daughter of Judah mourning and lamentation.
La 2:6 And he hath violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden: he hath destroyed his places of the assembly: the LORD hath caused the solemn feasts and sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion, and hath despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest.
La 2:7 The Lord hath cast off his altar, he hath abhorred his sanctuary, he hath given up into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have made a noise in the house of the LORD, as in the day of a solemn feast.
La 2:8 The LORD hath purposed to destroy the wall of the daughter of Zion: he hath stretched out a line, he hath not withdrawn his hand from destroying: therefore he made the rampart and the wall to lament; they languished together.
La 2:9 Her gates are sunk into the ground; he hath destroyed and broken her bars: her king and her princes are among the Gentiles: the law is no more; her prophets also find no vision from the LORD.

All of this shows that God completely cut off everything concerning that OT covenant way of life.

Notice, her prophets find no vision from the LORD.

I will sent this post and come back in a short while and give you more proof.

Zec 13:1 In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.
Zec 13:2 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.
Zec 13:3 And it shall come to pass, that when any shall yet prophesy, then his father and his mother that begat him shall say unto him, Thou shalt not live; for thou speakest lies in the name of the LORD: and his father and his mother that begat him shall thrust him through when he prophesieth.
Zec 13:4 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall be ashamed every one of his vision, when he hath prophesied; neither shall they wear a rough garment to deceive:
Zec 13:5 But he shall say, I am no prophet, I am an husbandman; for man taught me to keep cattle from my youth.
Zec 13:6 And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.
Zec 13:7 Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.

Lynn, study this chapter. It is showing the time when Jesus died for our sins and the NT started.

Notice the prophet said from this time, there will be no more prophets. They will pass out of the land.

In the NT, we are not to say, I am a prophet nor look for prophets any more. We are to be husbandmen over sheep.

The Word of God has all already been written. No prophets will ever come forth anymore giving out the Word in that manner.

Now we are all just to teach what is already given.

NT prophets is only a gift of showing something for the immediate time at hand. They told Paul he would be killed if he went up to Jerusalem.

They told of coming droughts. etc.

There are no OT prophets now.

John the Baptist was the LAST OT prophet. (the NT prophets do not call themselves prophets.) It is a total different working of God.

Mt 11:9 But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.
Mt 11:10 For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
Mt 11:11 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
Mt 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
Mt 11:13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.

Lu 16:16 The law and the prophets were UNTIL JOHN: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

Now, that is three witnesses that the last OT Prophet was John.

Mic 3:5 Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him.
Mic 3:6 Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them.
Mic 3:7

Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God.

Mic 3:8 But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.

Lynn, please study this chapter. And know that what you have done is the acceptable way with God.

Many times people hear something, which sounds unfamilar to them. They just misjudge it on the spot instead of checking it out. With God, these things are too important for this kind of attitude.

Because too many times one does not have enough understanding to really get what a person is saying. The right way is to be willing to discuss it with each other. Use the Word and prove a thing or disprove a thing....but do not just assume that because you do not already know it, that it is false.

Now back to the above Scripture:

The prophets were one of the OT shepherds. Those very shepherds were the ones who led God's people astray. It is the same today.

The pastors are the very ones who lead people astray. God said so.

the prophets are part of the OT way. This way is not of God. It is not pleasing to God. He did away with it.

So he put the prophets into darkness. They now have no vision from God. The sun went down over the prophets. This means they now have nothing with God. He gives them no light, no visions, no answer.

So anything a prophet prophecies will be lies. This is precisely why all the so-called 'prophets' of today are teaching nothing but lies. They are in darkness.

God is saying anyone who wishes to be or have a prophet today will be ashamed, for He is not with them. They can receive no answer from God since Jesus came on this earth.

See the last verse is Jesus speaking in prophecy. Jesus is the one saying, "I am full of the spirit and power".

Since Jesus, there can be no more prophets. ( I am not speaking of the people with the gift of prophecy in the NT. It is totally different.) They do not give people the Word of God as the OT Prophets did.

for:

Heb 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
Heb 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

See, this says that God spoke in time past = OT days, by the prohets. But he speaks to us now by his Son.

So to claim prophets in our day is to deny Jesus or to seek to go back to the law and therefore Jesus is of no effect to you.

God will never leave off speaking by his Son and go back to speaking again by the prophets. God does not go back and forth. When he is finished with a thing, it is FOREVER.

He will never bring up prophets again. He has given us ALL THE WORD OF GOD TO STUDY. We must not sit around now, hoping for some prophet to show up and tell us God's Word.

We are commanded to study the Word for ourselves. Search the Scriptures yourself. Else you will not have salvation. Prophets cannot do it for you. You must do it yourself.

God has given us the Scriptrues, revealed by Jesus, and that is all we will every receive as His Word. No more prophets speaking God's word in that manner.

John the Baptist was the last, for then Jesus came and since then, We are ALL PRIEST AND KINGS WITH GOD. all , all, all of us, Christians. We are all ONE.

I hope you study this and allow God to show you the truth.

Again, thanks for asking. May God richly bless you and reveal truth to you. at least, you had the decency to ask and not just call it a lie. God will never deal with that kind of person. That is what the Word calls closing your own eyes and ears. God will leave those kind of people in hell.

again u are wrong!
there were men in the new testament called prophet:

Acts 21:10 (King James Version)

10And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus.

Ac 11:27

And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.

Ac 13:1

Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

Ac 15:32 And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them.

Jazz, I acknowledged that the NT prophets did exist, BUT they are not OT prophets who give you the word of God.

This is a total different working of God than the OT prophets. I spoke of these NT prophets. You just do not read it all as I give it. But see that none of these men were writting or giving out any new Word from God.

They only prophecied of immediate things for the people of their day. They were not folks by whom we must go through to get a word from God. It is not that kind of thing, and I made it clear that this is what I am speaking.

THE SUN WENT DOWN OVER THE OT PROPHETS OR GOD SPEAKING TO US BY PROPHETS AND IT WILL NEVER BE AGAIN.

The carnal mind can never receive the things of God.

Isa 29:9

Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.

Isa 29:10 For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.

Lynn, do you realize that God said every word shall be establish as truth in the mouth of just two or three 'witnesses'?

That is how everything is proven with God. I have already given you more than the needed two or three, but here is another prophet of God, (a true prophet, Isaiah) telling us the very same thing. Notice how he takes it to the time of the NT that he cuts off the prophets:

Verse nine shows the Day of Pentecost, as they were acting as if drunk by the Holy Ghost,,,,,so this shows that in prophecy, this is the time it is speaking of:

God is talking to the OT people here. He is telling them they are now cut off, because the NT has come.

He said when this time is here (them staggering in the Spirit)-- this is when he pours that deep sleep upon those who reject this new move of God. He then COVERED THE SEERS AND PROPHETS, THEIR RULERS.

HE COVERED THEM; PLACED THEM INTO DARKNESS FOREVER. THEY ARE NO MORE! The day is dark over them. The sun went down over the prophets. glory to God. We may all now go to God for ourselves!

Do you realize that if God still used those prophets, then we could not go to God for ourselves.

Come boldly to the throne of God..........YOURSELF. You need no prophet, except JESUS.

Here is some more of how God feels about the prophets:

Jer 23:14 I have seen also in the PROPHETS of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.
Jer 23:15 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts concerning the PROPHETS; Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the PROPHETS of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land.
Jer 23:16 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the PROPHETS that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.
Jer 23:21 I have not sent these PROPHETS, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
Jer 23:25 I have heard what the PROPHETS said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.

Jer 23:30 Therefore, behold, I am against the PROPHETS, saith the LORD, that steal my words every one from his neighbour.
Jer 23:31 Behold, I am against the PROPHETS, saith the LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.

This is where your prophets of today are:

Eze 22:25 There is a conspiracy of her PROPHETS in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof.
Eze 22:28 And her PROPHETS have daubed them with untempered mortar, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken.

Jazz, When you can show me one single verse which shows one NT Prophet which was called 'prophet so-and-so' then I will admit to what you say.
But it is just not there. No person in the NT called themselves a prophet. There are only a very few times a NT type prophet is even mentioned in the Word.

I will quote here all of them. All other times the word 'prophet' is mentioned in the NT , it is referring to OT Prophets. There are very few people who understand the difference in an OT Prophet, and the NT prophets. It is not the same thing by a long shot. (and that is why I tell them there are no prophets today; I am showing them OT Prophets are not here today)(and I grant you the people who call themselves prophets today, mean the OT type!)

I did not say there were no prophets in the NT. I said no one called themselves a prohet. That is true. They only exercised that prophetical gift. Yes, I have also exercised this gift. Many times. and it matters not how you feel about this, it is true anyway.

now:
1co 12:29 Are all apostles? are all PROPHETS? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?
1co 14:29 Let the PROPHETS speak two or three, and let the other judge.
1co 14:32 And the spirits of the PROPHETS are subject to the PROPHETS.
Eph 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and PROPHETS, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
Eph 3:5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and PROPHETS by the Spirit;
Eph 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, PROPHETS; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

1co 12:28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily PROPHETS, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

Ac 15:32 And Judas and Silas, being PROPHETS also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them.

Ac 11:27 And in these days came PROPHETS from Jerusalem unto Antioch.
Ac 13:1 Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain PROPHETS and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

Lu 11:49 Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them PROPHETS and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute:

Mt 23:34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you PROPHETS, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:

Now, that is the ONLY place where NT prophets are mentioned! Show me another place if you can.

Not once was they called by the name of prophet. It only mentioned that there were some prophets.

These are not the same as what the world calls PROPHETS.

People are STILL looking for God to send a PROPHET TO STRAIGHTEN THINGS OUT......TO GIVE THEM THE WORD OF GOD......TO SHOW THEM POWER....TO PRONOUNCE VICTORY FOR THEM. to deliver them .ETC.

IT IS NOT EVER GOING TO BE. God gave us his Word, and we are ALL commanded to study it daily and learn, and pray at all times and we are going to God for ourselves. We are responsible to get into the Word and feed ourselves. We are responsible to learn and teach others, to deliver and heal and give out prophecies for others.

We are not going to be deliverd by someone else's labor. we all must labor ourselves.

(and can you believe that some folks accuse me of SINNING when I use capital letters for Accent?) My my, such ignorance.

People cannot 'hear' each other here.....so I use caps and larger letters and color for emphasis. and I do not care how many foolish people call it wrong. That is sooooooo silly!

Listen, the OT prophets are connected with the law. It is said, the law and prophets. This ALWAYS REFERS TO OT Prophets, by which God spoke to people.

God does not speak to us now by prophets. He said in these last days, he speaks to us by his son. not prophets.

The NT prophets are always listed with the Apostles. it says, the Apostles and prophets. They are not the law and the prophets.

Now don't go telling me you already knew this!

Show me where one NT prophet called themselves a PROPHET. Then and only then call me a lie!

Neither one, Jazz. Which ones do you have or are you? Which ones does your church have and exercise?

God said he has given the manifestation of the Spirit to all to profit withal. Which one do you and your church have?

I have exercised all of them at some time. As far as the five ministeries, I only consider myself to be a teacher.

Here is a prime example of what I said, that people come in here and seek to make me out a lie. they are not sincere when they 'ask' a question.

It is just that they are sooo sure that I am teaching wrong, that they think they can put me on the 'spot' and show me up.

If they were sincere, and wanted to learn what is really true, then when I go to all that trouble and work to fully answer their questions, they would at least come back and ONCE comment. But they either do not even come back and read my answer, or they see I did know what I was saying, and when the truth came out, they could not take it and just never show up again.

That is not pleasing to God. When one proves a teaching with the Written Word of God, Everyone had better accept the word. Then if you still do not understand, discuss it with an open heart.

To just never acknowledge that I answered is of no respect and shows the person was not sincere. I suspected it from the start, but am willing to answer all questions and wait and let the person prove what their intentions were.

They will give account to God for not desiring HIS truth and being willing to study the Scripture which proves a teaching.

To just ignore it is to spit in God's face, acknowledging that His word means nothing to you.
