To the Saints in Christ

I just wanted to post a few Scriptures about love. Love is a beautiful thing.

Matt.5:9-Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Mat.4:4 But he answered and said, it is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Matt.5:25-Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.

Matt. 5:43-48--Ye have heard that it hath been said, thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the publicans the same?

And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? Do not even the publicans so?

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Matt. 6:14-For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

v15. But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Matt.7:3-5.And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4. Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5.Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thime own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

John 14:21-24. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me; and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

22. Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

23.Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.

1John 2:5, 9-11.But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

9.He that saith he is is the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.

10.He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.

11.But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hate blinded his eyes.

1Jn.3: 13-18.Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

14.We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

15.Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

16.Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

17.But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

18.My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

1Jn.4:7-`12.20,21.Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

8.He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

9.In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

10.Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

11.Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

20.If a man say I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

21.And this commandment have we from him, that he who loveth God love his brother also.

1Jn. 5:1-3.Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

2.By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

3.For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.1

11Jn:5.And Now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.

God bless all

Jo

First of all I an no poet or singer but I thought this was real cute. It may not mean much to you but it was so wonderful to me that as the Lord began to give this to me tears began to flow down my cheeks. This is what he gave me and it may not be much to you but it is a lots to me.

Charity is love that builds your brother up;

Charity is love that never tears your brother down;

Charity is love that brings your brother around;

Charity is love that will never take your brother to the ground.

1Cor13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

013:002 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.( see he said that a person could have all these gifts of the spirit and still not have the greatest gift of all and that being charity. Without love he said it would all be in vain.)

013:003 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

013:004 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

013:005 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

013:006 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

013:007 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

013:013 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. ( he said that you could have all the faith and hope. Which is find and good but he said charity is the greatest of the three. No way am I talking against faith or hope and the one’s that know me know this.)

014:001 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.

014:002 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

014:003 But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

014:004 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

014:005 I would that ye all spake with tongues but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying

014:031 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.

Some may say well I don’t have the gift of prophecy. Well I am telling you that you do. Go to Rev.-19:10-

019:010 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

See it said we all may prophesy. That is what the people that are giving these beautiful testimonies are doing and what this does it edifies the saints of God. Get in here and give us a testimony. These people are trying to show you love and to be a witness for the Lord. It is not anything that they do but they are just telling how the Lord used them in certain situations.

Math-005:043 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

005:044 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you

Mat.22:037- Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 022:038 This is the first and great commandment.

022:039- And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself

Mark-12:033- And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices

Luke-6:27- But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

006:028-Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

006:035 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

John-13:034- A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

013:035 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

015:012 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. 015:013 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends

015:017 These things I command you, that ye love one another.

Rom-5:5- And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

012:009 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

012:010 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

013:008 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

013:009 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

013:010 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law

2 Cor.-13:11- Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

Gal.-5:013-For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

005:014-For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself

005:022 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Eph.-3:017- That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love

003:019 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

004:002- With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

05:002 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

Isaiah,  that is one wonderful message!  And I can say I surely needed it right now.  I truly believe God gave that to you to give to me right now.  I truly need to be filled with that kind of love again.  it can 'seep' out so easily if we do not stay filled with HIS Spirit.  If we give place to our flesh, then we lose sight of that 'charity' LOVE.

Thank you for this message.  Your first part which God gave you is so very good.  I need to memorize that and preach it to myself.

God said unless you forgive from the heart every trespass of man against you, He will not forgive you your sins. This is important. See it is an absolute requirement for you to have your own sins forgiven. You must forgive every sin against you. You must do this from the heart. This dear one, is CHARITY.

Under the O.T. Law, there was NO FORGIVENESS; NOT FROM GOD; NOT FROM MAN.

The Law required punishment for every sin. It many times required death.

Therefore, If one lived this law, their heart was STONE. = No love, no forgiveness. They could not have the love, the forgiveness. If they did, then they themselves would be BREAKING THE LAW; FOR THE LAW REQUIRED DEATH.

You could not forgive a person if they did a wrong - it had to be brought to the judge (the priests) and judged and then the person had to pay the penalty. If one did not do this, then they themselves were guilty of breaking the law. (Thank God for Grace).

Charity is forgiveness.

If you do not forgive, then you are not in GRACE, YOU ARE UNDER LAW. It puts you back under law to not forgive every trespass against yourself.

Grace is forgiveness. Under the law there was no forgiveness, but a certain fearful looking for of fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Now that is some stong stuff!  Just imagine such a glorious and necessary message so clearly laid out in the word, and most people and preachers are idling away their time with jokes and games and foolishness.

this powerful message of forgiveness and charity needs to be preached every day to everyone.  Are people not serious anymore about having eternal life?  do they not realize that God still requires the very same thing that he wrote in His Word?

why are so many indifferent to the Word and the need for sanctification and love?

May we be insturments to help wake some of them up!  May we ourselves be diligent to obey this great command from God.  We must love and forgive and have fervent charity among ourselves to please God or have eternal life.

1Cor. 8:1 shows that Charity edifies one another. All of this is to build up Christian love and growth in ourselves and others. This was not under law.

 Rom. 10:4--For Christ is the END OF THE LAW for righteousness to very one that believeth.

So when 1Tim. 1:5 said the END OF THE COMMANDMENT IS CHARITY -- this is saying Charity is the end of the law. If this be so, then it is true, Charity is Grace. Grace is forgiveness. Grace is LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF.

(Heb. 10:27).

v28--He that despised Moses?law died without MERCY under two or three witnesses.

See, no mercy under law. Mercy is Grace-- forgiveness-- love-- it covers a multitude of sins. This is CHARITY.

Heb. 10:16--This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

v17--And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

This is the new Covenant = Grace = forgiveness and forgetting our sins. This means that if we have Charity, we must forgive and forget other’s sins against us.

See then, that Charity is the New Covenant. That is why the word is not even one time used in the O.T.

So why would God write THAT law into our hearts, ...... then demand us to forgive from the heart every trespass of man against us ......... else he would not forgive us.

The Law he wrote into our hearts demands us to forgive every sin against ourselves. It demands us to love and over look sins.

The only way Jesus himself could get out of stoning someone to death was to get around them, and find a way to get over into the New Covenant of grace and forgive that adulterous woman. If he had not had the wisdom to outdo those men with their own consciousness of sin, he would have HAD TO LET THEM STONE HER TO DEATH----- FOR THAT WAS WHAT THE LAW DEMANDED. HE WOULD HAVE BEEN BREAKING THE LAW HIMSELF UNLESS HE DID THAT.

But he found a way to get around it and give her forgivenss love, - possible only under Grace.

That is why the tried to accuse him of breaking the Sabbath --- he was getting around this weekly rest, which was not the Grace Rest, and he would do things they said broke the weekly Sabbath; for he was always getting around that law to give grace.

That is one reason they hated him so much. He knew that weekly Sabbath was not the rest of God. He knew love, charity, grace, forgivness is the true rest; one impossible under the Law of moses = commandments.

People, if that old law is in your hearts, you have a stony heart; you cannot love; you cannot forgive; you cannot have charity. For CHARITY is LOVE, FORGIVENESS; CHARITY COVERS A MULTITUDE OF SINS.

That old law could NEVER TAKE AWAY EVEN ONE SIN.

So those commandments are forgotten and left behind when ONE TURNS TO CHRIST. WHEN ONE IS FILLED WITH LOVE, CHARITY, FORGIVENSSS = THE NEW COVENANT = THE LAWS WRITTEN IN OUR HEARTS.

11Cor. 3: 13. And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
14. But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
15. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.

16. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.

See v.16-- there is your answer --- when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail (or blindness of that old law) shall be taken away.

If and when you turn to Jesus, those old laws will be remembered no more. A new Law, a new covenant will be written in your heart.

Freeborn, I hope you don't mind puting this here. If you do, delete it.
But as I was reading about love, I began to tjink of my wife and what I wrote about her after her death. This lady had so much love.

The Battle Is Over

1 Corinthians 15:55-- “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory??/P>

015:057-- “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.?

I believe that it was the apostle Paul that wrote the saying above. I believe with all my heart that my wife can testify to the same thing. I believe that she had victory over the grave, even though she had to die a natural life. It is something that we all are going to have to do unless the Lord comes before we die. The Bible says it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment. I believe that my wife is able to quote the above Scripture and the reason that she can is because she had a friend about 2000 years ago whose name was Jesus, that conquered the grave for her. He conquered it for her and also for all.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that who so ever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.?(So we can see from this that she is not dead but that she has life and that she has it more abundantly.)

As I was thinking what I was going to put in this to the community, I began to think of what a mighty soldier my wife had become. The Scripture over in Joel 2:4 came to my mind.

002:004 -- “The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run?( You see that my wife was a good foot soldier and she can run with the horsemen, and I would go to war and to battle with her any day. I would not be afraid to let her lead the way.)

Here was a woman that faced the dreaded disease of cancer and looked it straight in the eye and said Praise the Lord. One day as we went in to see the doctor to get some results from some tests, he looked at her and said I am so sorry that we have found cancer in one rib. She looked him straight in the eye and said Praise The Lord, he brought me here with one rib and if he wants to he can take me out with one rib.

Here was a woman that would give you the shirt off her back. To prove this let me share something that happened one day in the office where we went. There were several people in the treatment room when they were at and one said to my wife I really like that blouse that you have on, and my wife took it off and gave it to her. There was also another lady in the room and she said that I would say that I like the other stuff that you have on but I would be afraid that you would walk out of here naked.

As I was thinking about this I began to think how that some people have all of the knowledge of the scriptures and there are men that have great ministries and have all the knowledge of the word. But I believe that my wife had one of the great ministries that I have ever seen. She had very little knowledge of the word of God because you see my wife was not able to read. Not many people ever knew this and I would not be sharing this with you now if she was still living. The only knowledge of the word is what I tried to explain to her. You just had to be around my wife just a few minutes and you can see and feel the great love that she had for God and everyone around her.

But as Paul was saying in 1 Corinthians 13:2- “And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing? This woman did not have all these gifts but I know that she had faith that would remove mountains and she had the greatest gift of all and that was love. The Bible says if you have faith as a mustard seed you can move mountains and this she did.

Never have I ever seen as much faith as she had. My prayer is Lord give me this kind of faith. The Bible says if you have the faith of a mustard seed you can move mountains. She had the faith to move mountains and I am not sure if I could even move the mustard seed compared to the faith that she had.

She was not able to speak to anyone or to say anything 3 or 4 days before she left departed this world, but as she was dying she was able to raise her hand just before she died and said Praise the Lord and I love you Jesus. The Lord allowed her to tell every member of the family that she loved them. She told me that she knew that she was dying and the thing that she hated most was leaving her family. This woman had love for everybody and you could tell it from the people that came to the funeral home and to the funeral. People were lined up to sign the register from inside the funeral home to the outside. The sanctuary at the funeral home was also full.

Here was a woman just two weeks before her death was asked this question. The question was to describe a time in your life when God led you in an unusual way? Her answer to this question was “now going through this cancer I guess it has been the most unusual time. Its been and experience that truly has been a blessing?( how many people can you say that you have heard say that cancer has been a blessing) “she said through my illness I’ve been able to witness to others about my God.?/P>

I would like to thank God for her being my wife of 38 long years we have had some hard times and some good times. I guess that having to watch her die has been the hardest thing that I have ever experienced, but with the help of God we can make it through this thing. I hope to one day be able to be with her again. She had won the battle she has got the victory but I still have to stay in the battle. And I can win the battle if I keep the faith as she did.

I believe that she can say as Paul did I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: As I said before this woman had more faith that anyone that I have ever seen.

I would like to thank each and everyone of you for the prayers that was sent up for her, me and also for my family. May God Bless each and every one.

Dear Axs,  how I do thank you for placing this here for us again, so that it will be accessible from this board easily.

I have sat here and re-read this entire thread.  Now I see why you were having that shouting good time before going to bed.

I wish to say again, that your wife, my best friend,  was one of the most spiritual people I have ever been around.  Just talking to her on the phone would bring the presence and glory of God.  I think many times I came to see you and her and talked to her on the phone,  more for that glory I felt around both of you, than anything else.

She was such a blessing to anyone who spoke with her.  My daughter,  Wanna, also said each time she was around Jerrie she would feel that glorious presence of God.

Thank you and longing for that day when we can all be together again on the other side of this troubled life.

God bless you.
me
