Jer 14:1 The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah concerning the dearth.
Jer 14:2 Judah mourneth, and the gates thereof languish; they are black unto the ground; and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up.
Jer 14:3 And their nobles have sent their little ones to the waters: they came to the pits, and found no water; they returned with their vessels empty; they were ashamed and confounded, and covered their heads.
Jer 14:4 Because the ground is chapt, for there was no rain in the earth, the plowmen were ashamed, they covered their heads.
Jer 14:5 Yea, the hind also calved in the field, and forsook it, because there was no grass.
Jer 14:6 And the wild asses did stand in the high places, they snuffed up the wind like dragons; their eyes did fail, because there was no grass.
Jer 14:7 O LORD, though our iniquities testify against us, do thou it for thy name's sake: for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against thee.
Jer 14:8 O the hope of Israel, the saviour thereof in time of trouble, why shouldest thou be as a stranger in the land, and as a wayfaring man that turneth aside to tarry for a night?
Jer 14:9 Why shouldest thou be as a man astonied, as a mighty man that cannot save? yet thou, O LORD, art in the midst of us, and we are called by thy name; leave us not.

The above Scripture is a heartbreaking story of Jesus being left as a stranger to certain people. Why? Who is the ones to whom He is a stranger? To them, he is a man astonied and cannot save.

Then sent their children to their pits for water, but there was none. They went home ashamed. It was the OT law which had been forsaken by God. Their gates were destroyed as a way to God.

They had no true Word, or water. They had no true Baptism for the remission of sins. They are clouds without water. The children [their people] found no water, or life in their vessels. Their plowmen [ministers] were ashamed, for there had been no rain [the Word] therefore their ground [heart] was too hard to receive the Word of Grace.....

So.....they covered their head..... = they have no salvation.

They count Jesus as an unknown man who cannot save. Law has blinded them to any true Salvation. They consider Jesus as a wayfaring man. Their house was left unto them DESOLATE. Their children are ashamed and astonished that there is no grass or rain or food in their house. They are starving.......spiritually.

Jer. 14: 18

If I go forth into the field, then behold the slain with the sword! and if I enter into the city, then behold them that are sick with famine! yea, both the prophet and the priest go about into a land that they know not.

In the 'city' of the OT Law, there is only sickness and famine! No Word from God! Both their prophets and their priest go into a land they know nothing about = Grace. Slain with the Sword is those whom Jesus cut off = the Law Head.

14: 19--Hast thou utterly rejected Judah? hath thy soul loathed Zion? why hast thou smitten us, and there is no healing for us? we looked for peace, and there is no good; and for the time of healing, and behold trouble!

Jesus loathed Ziou! Yes, He hated that old covenant. There was no healing for that old way of life. God despised the entire thing. Only trouble awaite all who cling to this forsaken way. [Why will you die?}
Jer 14:20 We acknowledge, O LORD, our wickedness, and the iniquity of our fathers: for we have sinned against thee.
Jer 14:21 Do not abhor us, for thy name's sake, do not disgrace the throne of thy glory: remember, break not thy covenant with us.
Jer 14:22

Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? art not thou he, O LORD our God? therefore we will wait upon thee: for thou hast made all these things.

They try to get God to continue with their law covenant. But God will never do this.

Joe 1:15

Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.

God sent destruction to that old City of Law. There is coming a day very soon, when He will again send a destruction. This time it will be to the fake church which is nothing but the revived old head of law; fake religion; self-righteousness; money-making, sinning churches.

Your day of destruction will come from the Almighty just as surely as it came to old Jerusalem.

Wake up and repent before that day is upon you! why will you die?

Ge 4:3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.
Ge 4:4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
Ge 4:5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
Ge 4:6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
Ge 4:7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

Ge 3:14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

Ge 3:17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
Ge 3:18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;

Cursed is the 'ground'. Dust shalt thou eat. in sorrow shalt thou EAT of it [ground]. Dust [ground] is the serpents meat. Dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life.

Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the GROUND [dust; a cursed thing, thorns and thistles = law]

Cain brought a cursed thing to God. They ate of that tree. They ate dust. Law. ground. in sorrow. all their life.

For this, God pronounced death on them.

Ge 3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Thou shalt return unto the ground = dust, for DUST thou art and unto DUST shalt thou reture, thou shalt return unto the GROUND, for GROUND thou art and unto the ground shalt thou return.........GROUND = DUST. = thorns.

Notice, God gave Cain a chance to repent = do well, and he would be accepted or saved.......but Cain refused. Why will you DIE? Why will you not repent?

Why would you rather go on in your rebellion and sin and end up in hell fire? rather than to repent, do well and be accepted? why will you DIE?

Ge 4:8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
Ge 4:9 And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?
Ge 4:10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.
Ge 4:11 And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;
Ge 4:12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.
Ge 4:13 And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear.
Ge 4:14 Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me.

Notice, Cain not only refused to repent and confess his sins, but he turned and did even worse. He committed murder.....killed his own brother....for his brother was righteous and Cain was wicked.

Now God pronouned Cain as CURSED. Now Cain is doomed to hell fire. Now Cain's time for repentance is over. He has forfited his chance to repent, do well, and be accepted. Why? Why will you die?

Cain declared, My punishment is more than I can bear! But still, he REFUSED TO REPENT. Why?

Why WILL YOU DIE?
