Is foot washing for today? In church meetings? I've never done it, but it is being done in my brother's church.  When Jesus did it, wasn't it for an example/symbolic of how we are to serve?  I don't understand it.
Love,
"Spiritwalker"

Tom and John,

Study my other post, the long series of messages on foot washing if you really desire the truth on this matter.

No, Tom,  that is the ONLY  time in the Word that the two,  foot washing and the last supper,  were linked together.

If you will do a study on foot washing as I did,  you will find that this matter of feet washing goes way back to Abraham's day.  I had not understanding on this subject until Spiritwalker brought this up.

God moved on me to study it.  That series of messages came from that study.  There is still some more on it which I have not typed up yet.   This is a very important act which we should all be practicing.

In all the other times listed,  foot washing was done without the communion.  There is a special reason Jesus brought them together there.

This study I posted on several other communities;  a man who read them on another board, has been e-mailing me, trying to get me to have this message put into book form;  and then to sell them.

I will not sell the things of God's Word;  for this is the mark of the beast.  This man does not understand this;  he wants this message to reach people.

may God lead me in this matter.

Joie

Communion and feet washing goes to gether, just like repent and be baptized, one is no good with out the other. Repentance is no good unless you are baptized, and feet washing is no good unless you take the communion just before you feet wash.
In the same night Jesus took bread and broke it and gave it to them to eat,and he poured the cup and had them to drink it,then immediately after he instituted feet washing.
Feet washing is as much a commandment,as anything God ever commanded. It is a commandment to do so. If you break that commandmet hell will be your home.
You can not get out of it.
You think you can do anything that you want to and get by.but you can't. You can't get in heaven unless you do everything that God commands.
Matt. 5 : 19 Whosoever thereforeshall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so,he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them the same shall be called great  in the kingdom of heaven.   But of course if you are a woman and trying to teach the word of God,you are doomed anyway, that is unless you repent(quit.) of that sin.

If that was true,Jesus washing their feet because they were dirty then why did Jesus say John 13 : 7  What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.
Don't you suppose that they knew their feet was dirty?
Here is another point on that.  10th verseJesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean everywhit   : but not all (speaking of Judus the one that betrayed him.  Jesus washed his feet to.

That word feetwashing mean baptism.

Tom Doley,  Jesus did NOT  INSTITUTE  footwashing there at that last supper.   Footwashing goes all the way through the Word of God all the way back to Abraham.

If you think as you stated in another post,  and rightly so,  that the letter is the law of Moses,  then you also go back to that law to say that a woman cannot teach.  For it is only under that LAW  that she is forbidden.  Jesus set us all free.  Free from the bondage placed on us by that LAW.

To try to still tell women they cannot teach or prophesy is to deny Grace, and hold to law.

That is why paul said that;  he was only quoting what those who still believed in the law were saying;  but he rebuked them for it.  Men have distorted this Scripture so long,  few can see the real truth here.

Are you calling Joel and Peter a lie, when they said,  Your sons  and  your   DAUGHTERS  shall  PROPHESY?

Joie, sent by God

That is quite allright, Larry.  I know you always do good in bringing back up anything I mention.  And of course you had no way of knowing this was not the one.  I did a long series of beautiful messages on what was revealed to me when I began to study into this subject.

I went all the way back to our very first page today looking for them.  but did not find them.  Of course I skipped over some pages.  I have found a disk which has some of them on.  I do not have time tonight to redo them.  Still hope to find the ones already in here.  I do not have them in my documents,  so need to save them there when I find them.

But not tonight.  I still have not shelled those peas.  I HAVE to do it now.

Spent many hours here today and must do something else for now.

But Jodi, I will bring them back up one way or another.  They are beautiful, and astonishing revelations to me.

Love ye both,
Me

Well, sister Jodi,  I will take a look when I can find time, hope next week.  If I do not have them on a special board, I certainly do need to put them there.

Love,  Joie
