Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the SEED of David according to the flesh; | For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his SEED, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. | Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the SEED; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, | Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy SEED be. | Neither, because they are the SEED of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy SEED be called. | That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the SEED. | And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a SEED, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha. | I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the SEED of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. | Now to Abraham and his SEED were the promises made. He saith not, And to SEEDs, as of many; but as of one, And to thy SEED, which is Christ. | Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the SEED should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. | And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's SEED, and heirs according to the promise. | |
