This is a message I wrote on the local forum I teach on. I want to share it with you.
of course no teaching on hell fire and how Jesus taught this would be complete without this one. So read on:
Lu 16:22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
Lu 16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
Now this is Jesus speaking this message. He plainly showed here that this rich man had died and been buried. So do not make the mistake of saying hell is the grave. In this hell place the rich man lift up his eyes. He could still see. Is that a dead body? Of course not. He saw Abraham and talked to him, yet he was dead.
He was in torment in flames of hell.
Lu 16:24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
He said to Abraham, I am TORMENTED in this flame. FLAME. FIRE.
He was tormented. HE WAS TORMENTED. And you think I am evil to warn people to flee this horrible place? I would be evil if I did NOT WARN everyone. Repent and be baptized in Jesus name. Why take a chance with your soul? Accept the Holy Ghost. Why end up in this torment? when it is so easy and glorious to go the other way. Why let a dead, fake church deceive you into going to hell fire?
Lu 16:25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
Three times right here Jesus himself told that this rich man was TORMENTED IN HELL FIRE AND LAZARUS WAS COMFORTED.
And you say you are the one following Jesus? The one loving these people?
No, the one who puts down their own reputation, their own esteem among men, their name, their being looked up to, and tells people the truth.
Run, repent, do anything you must to be saved in the end. Don't wind up in this horrible place of fire and torment.
If you say it does not exist, then burn your Bible. If you say it is not so, then call Jesus Christ a big lie.
That is what you must do to say it is not true.
How can I believe this, know this, and know the one and only plan of salvation and NOT SCREAM IT TILL I DIE?
what is wrong with other ministers? why are they not also upset, concerned, screaming this, helping me, trying to reach souls before it is too late? Why be so concerned about being 'looked up to'
liked?
fed?
paid"
esteemed?
How can it be worth it to you? Tell them the truth. Run, flee, roll, slobber, bloober, do what ever it takes, but get filled with the Holy Ghost.
Get down to some water (outside stuff-- God did not invent indoor baptizings- it is abomination to him) anyway go to a river if possible and get baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins.
Then seek God until he fills you with the Holy Ghost like he did at Pentecost. Then obey him the rest of your lives. Why risk going to this place of Torment?
Why? Why is being baptized the right way so bad that you will risk going into hell fire to keep from doing this?
Am I the only minister in this county who believes this truth? Why is no one else out there screaming this also? Do you not care that so many are being deceived into believing a lie to be damned?
God help us. God help them. God raise up some ministers who really love the people, who are not concerned with their 'public image'. who will wallow in dirt if necessary to reach these souls.
God help us all.
