This thread will be open for discussion:

I consider the teaching of 'once saved; always saved' to be one of the most harmful and damning doctrines to ever hit this earth.

Now if the 'teachers' of this doctrine really understood what and when 'saved' is, they would have a true teaching. But since they claim to be eternally 'saved' here in this mortal life, they are teaching lies of Satan.

The Word of God clearly says that we must endure UNTIL THE END to be saved.

See, there are many, many conditions to being saved. The Baptist took Romans 10: 9 and totally slaughtered the Word of God with this verse. No verse in the Scripture can be isolated alone and be taught correctly. It will come up wrong everytime. When Peter declared that no Scripture is of any private interpretation, it means all Scripture must have another Scripture to explain it. You cannot find answers in commentaries, books, sermons, your own imaginations, etc. You MUST find answers from the Word of God.

Now let's explore Romans 10: 9 since this is the foundation the false doctrine of eternal security in this life rest upon.
Now I assume we all accept that Paul wrote Romans. Anyway it matters not who wrote it.. The Word of God in all books matches perfectly all other Scripture. If not, then your thoughts are lies.

Romans 10:

9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Now, this verse did NOT say, as they assume, that believing saves one. Now did it? Nope. It said if you believe you -- SHALT BE SAVED.

Now look up that term-- shalt be. It means future tense, it means something which IS VERY LIKELY TO OCCUR; A GOOD POSSIBLILTY THAT THIS MAY BE.

See, It is NOT saying that just believing 'saves' one eternally.

Now look at another verse they mistake and go wild with.

John 1: 12. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Here it says that as many as believe on him and receive him, God gives them the power TO BECOME sons of God.

Now once again, we have here a FUTURE TENSE PROPERSITION. It is saying that to those who believe and receive Jesus, will be given the power = (the Holy Ghost)-- to go on to know the Lord and BECOME Sons of God.

Now we are the sons of God, BUT IT DOTH NOT YET APPEAR WHAT WE SHALL BE, but we know that WHEN HE APPEARS then we will be like him = (glorified) for we shall then see him as he is.

Now, even though we are children of God here in this life, there is yet to be another manifestation of becoming His Sons, and that will be at the resurrection, when we will be 'saved' eternally by becoming like unto the resurrected Son of God, Jesus Christ.

Until then, we must endure all things without turning back away from serving God. It says if you put your hand to the plow and look back, you are not FIT FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD.

Remember Lot's wife. Looking back to the world will take away your start you made with God.

There is lots, yes lots more , much more on this subject which will fully teach the truth of it; but I will only take it a section at a time. It is just too much to write at one time.

joie there are many that is basing their salvation on Romans 10: 9 as you say.
There are professing Christians who build their doctrine of Salvation on one verse of scripture while rejecting all the other scriptures which relate to Salvation.

As you have stated this shalt be saved is future tense. BELIEF AND CONFESSION is the beginning of the process of the NEW BIRTH. THe bible said the devils believe but are they saved? THIS IS A DECEPION OF THE DEVIL YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY?

Jesus said - And many false prophets shall rise and deceive many"
( Matthew 24 : 11 ).
Notice that it is not the few that will be deceived but the many.

Many famous preachers hold giant evangelistic crusades each year and declare that thousands of people were ‘saved? They also have their ungodly tv programs showing thousands coming to the alter. During the alter call, the people are told to raise their hand and repeat the sinners prayer. They are then told ' you are now saved ' These preachers are false prophets and are leading millions of people to hell.

Isaiah, that is SO VERY TRUE. I agree completely. Now:

Luke 21: 24. And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
25.  And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26. Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

27. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

28. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

I shall just post a few verses at a time on this subject. I have let other subjects take me away from the subject each time we brought it up. Now I see this subject is MUCH too important to just 'skim' over.

If, IF you are living in this mortal life and ASSUMING that you ALREADY have eternal life, you are sadly mistaken and can end up in HELL thinking you had HEAVEN made.

Now I know I cannot make even one soul believe truth. All I can do is show it to you. I teach the Word of God; not some 'church's doctrine'. by now you all should know that. I show you what God's Word says about any subject I get onto. If you refuse the WRITTEN WORD OF GOD, YOU DO NOT STAND A CHANCE OF SALVATION ANYWAY.

now in the above Scripture, we see it taking us all the way to the end at the return of Jesus and it says, when you see these things BEGIN to come to pass, (including the return of Jesus)---- then look up and lift up your heads FOR YOUR REDEMPTION DRAWETH NIGH. Nigh means near.

So it is saying when all those terrible things happen and you see the returning of Jesus then your REDEMPTION IS COMING NEAR. So how could you have ALREADY HAD IT?

The Holy Ghost is only given to us as AN EARNEST, until the day of redemption. (may as well get you that Scripture also).

Eph. 1: 10. That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
11. In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
12. That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

13. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

14. Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

See here that he gave us the Spirit, which is an earnest UNTIL THE REDEMPTION OF THE PURCHASES POSSESSION (OUR BODIES).

Now see also in the above, that the redemption was not until the very end of everything. So the Holy Ghost is like earnest money until you actually pay for a thing and then truly POSSESS IT.

We do not POSSESS Eternal life now. We only have a promise of it IF WE ENDURE UNTIL THE END AND OBEY GOD AND COME UP IN THAT FIRST RESURRECTION OF THE JUST.

Once Saved

Some of the Scriptures that I am fixing to present may have already been brought forward. But if they are it will be only a second witness.

Let’s take a look at the church in Ephesus who had left their first love ( Rev.3:4-5)

“Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.?

“Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.?/FONT>

He told them that they left their first love and had fallen, and unless they repent that he would remove their candle stick out of his place. In other words he would remove their spiritual light. He was going to move that your church and there would be darkness.

Now let me try to clear something here. We are not saying that if you fall that you cannot come back to God. Because we see right here that God said if they repent and come back to him that he would forgive them. What we’ll trying to say that if you think just because once you are saved that you will always be no matter what you do which is not correct.

Rev.- 3:1- And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.

3:2-Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.

3:3- Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

Look what he told the Laodicean church

3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth

1 Tim. - 5:12- Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith.

5:15- For some are already turned aside after Satan.

Jeremiah 17:5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.

17:6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.

2 Chr 15:2 And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you

Ezekiel 18:24 - But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.

But now look at this one-

18:21 - But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die

18:22 All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live. . ( Proving that if you repent God will forgive and now hold it against you.)

18:29 - Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the LORD is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?

18:30 - Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.

18:31 - Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

18:32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye. ( Amen)

All this is referring to if you forsake him he in return will forsake you

Deuteronomy 31:16 And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.

31:17 Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us?

Joshua 24:19 And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the LORD: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.

24:20 If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.

1 Chr. 28:9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

He will not forgive you if you forsake him, if thou forsake him he will cast thee off forever.

2 Chronicles 7:22 And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.

15:2 And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.

24:20 And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, which stood above the people, and said unto them, Thus saith God, Why transgress ye the commandments of the LORD, that ye cannot prosper? because ye have forsaken the LORD, he hath also forsaken you

Does these scriptures teach 'Once Saved'? Of course not.
