~~ Conversion of the Bondchild ~~ By: Jo Smith*** Dec. 12, 2005
Today I was studying for a message God has given me on the Seven heads of the Beast. I began to read some in Genesis 21. Here God gave me an astonishing revelation which I have never heard or thought before. So before I attempt to write on those seven heads, I wish to write this delightful little message.
We all know that the firstborn represents the law, Adam, death. We know that the youngest represents the New Testament salvation or Pentecost. But I think we all missed this. The NT started out with all bondchildren! That is bondchildren being converted.
Yes, Peter, John, James and all the rest had been under that bondage of law until God opened their ‘eyes? All down through the age of ‘church?bondchildren have been able to come into Grace and receive freedom. God had even told the evil Cain that he would be accepted if he would do well. All who refuse this offer of salvation will be cast out of the Paradise of God and into that lake of fire. It is not God’s will for any to perish.
Abraham was the Father of the righteous and of many nations. Notice that he circumcised Ishmael the same as Isaac. Ge 17:17 Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear? 17:18 And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee! 17:19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him. 17:20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation. 17:21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.
Isaac represents Jesus, the younger. God’s everlasting covenant was established with Jesus or grace. But notice that Abraham had interceded to God for Ishmael and God heard this prayer and answered it. He blessed Ishmael and made a great nation of him. Ishmael has a double ‘type?in Scripture. I never knew the one I am showing in this message until today. Thank God for feeding me his word.
We all know that Hagar and Ishmael type the bondchildren or those under that bondage of law. But they also show or type the bondchildren who repent and are converted. This is the glory God revealed to me today. They also type the ‘mockers?who are cast out of God’s presence. Peter said in the last days mockers will come. They were there at the Day of Pentecost, mocking those who spoke in tongues who had been weaned from the breast of mama law.
Ge 21:1 And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken.
Ge 21:2 For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. 21:3 And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac. 21:4 And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him. The birth of Isaac represents the birth of Jesus. The bondwoman had borne her child first. Then the freewoman (NT Grace) bore her child. Both Isaac and Jesus were circumcised on the eighth day, showing that Jubilee of freedom which came on the fiftieth year or Pentecost. They had the ‘body?of sins cut off.
Ge 21:8 And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned. Ge 21:9 And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking. Ge 21:10 Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac. The child growing shows Jesus growing up under that law time. But when he became of age, he was ‘weaned?from the breast of that ‘mother? God made a ‘feast?on this day = the Day of Pentecost. On this day or great feast of the Spirit and Word, the ‘mockers?mocked them saying they were drunk. So the freemother said send those bondchildren or mockers away, for they will not be heir with my son.
Ge 21:11 And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight because of his son. Ge 21:12 And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called. Ge 21:13 And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.
Here we find that Abraham grieved and did not wish to send Ishmael away. We find in Hosea that God also grieved for the idolatrous Ephraim. We see David grieving for the dead Absalom. We know that God grieved over the wayward Adam and Cain. God did not wish for any to perish.
But see that God told Abraham to listen to the words of Sarah for she had the revelation in this instance. We are each to submit to the other in the Lord. Women and men may have the Word of the Lord.
Ge 21:14 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.
Here Abraham gave Hagar and Ishmael some bread and a ‘bottle?of water and sent them away to wander in the ‘wilderness?of ‘confusion? Those who go away from the freewoman, Grace, will be in confusion. Hagar put the bottle on her shoulder. This shows being under the works of the law. Those who labor for their idols are said to carry him on their shoulders. This ‘bottle?of water represents the law. In the law was a tiny bit of food and water. But for the most part it was only bondage and death. It was that tree of the knowledge of good and evil. It was works, which they had to ‘carry?on their own shoulder. They were a cow yoked under the bondage of another cow, no freedom.
Ge 21:15 And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.
Notice all the water in this bottle of law ran out. It was not sufficient for their needs. It only got them started on their journey of life. It soon ran out. So she felt sure they were going to die here in this wilderness without any food or water. She dreaded to see the child die, so she cast him under one of the shrubs there. This is a type of ‘casting?all your care upon Jesus for He cares for you.
Ge 21:16 And she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bowshot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against him, and lift up her voice, and wept.
This is a glorious verse and revelation here. Hagar did not want to see her child DIE. So she went a good way off and sat down. It said it was a ‘bowshot?away. Now what does this ‘bowshot?show? In Revelation, under that first seal, when Jesus starts out to conquer the world and bring it under subjection to him, his first move is with his ‘bow ? The OT folks were a ‘bowshot?away from Jesus at this point. This is showing those whom Jesus conquered with his bow. They are the bondchildren who came in after the Day of Pentecost, after they see that the ‘life?is gone from the OT or Law. They came to understand that all food and water has gone from that old covenant, and that they will surely die if they continue there. So they turned to Jesus and received LIFE, his living Water from his Well of Living Water. He gave them food from heaven.
Next Hagar shows a broken and contrite heart as she humbled herself and lifted up her voice and WEPT. This moves the heart of God. Ge 21:17 And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.
Hagar’s weeping reached the ears of God. He heard the voice of the lad. The angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven. Now when God speaks to anyone out of heaven, this person is now God’s child. When God speaks from heaven it shows that God has moved for you and into your life and opened the doors of heaven to accept you and bring you into eternal life. This is the very same kind of happening which Jesus experienced at his baptism, when God opened the door of heaven and spoke to him.
Notice he then told Hagar “fear not? Notice this is the greeting the angel always talked to the people with. This ‘fear not?is a call into the NT Grace. Under that law, they had to always fear. They had to fear every move they made and they feared the voice of God. Under the NT of Love there is no fear. So here we see that Hagar has been accepted and called into Grace or life, where all fear is removed. Glory! See God had heard Ishmael. There was now nothing to fear or ail over. Praise His Holy Name forevermore. Remember God had promised Abraham that He would be with Ishmael and make of him a great nation. Here God is keeping that promise.
Ge 21:18 Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation.
Notice here that God gave Hagar something to do. Arise. This shows resurrection and also coming out of that bondage of law into the freedom of grace. Lift up the lad in thine hand. See here she is set up as a freewoman, able to give life to her child. God here passes his promise to Abraham onto Hagar. I will make him a great nation.
Ge 21:19 And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.
Now this is marvelous. It is the conversion of the bondchildren. God opened her eyes. This shows enlightenment or coming into the understanding of God and grace or life. Before this she was still under the blindness brought onto all the bondchildren by their father, Adam. Before this all the ‘water?or life she had was in that little ‘bottle? Now she sees a WELL OF WATER. This well of water is the Words of Jesus. She now is brought into salvation by grace. Next, she rose up and went to work drawing this water out of that well. She is now a New Testament Christian. Wow! She now is as that woman at the well. She is the daughters of Jerusalem, drawing from that Well of living Water. She FILLED that bottle with this new water. Thus she was filled with the Holy Ghost. Then she performed the work of a NT Minister, she went and gave this living water to her son.
Ge 21:20 And God was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer.
God was now with Ishmael. He dwelt in the wilderness, but now it is not the wilderness of confusion. It is the wilderness into which the woman who birthed the manchild goes into. It is the wilderness of new territory with God or new revelation of grace. This is where she is fed from the face of that serpent, law.
Becoming an archer represents being one of those NT ministers who use that bow under that first seal. They are the ministers conquering the world for Jesus. The Bondchild has come home to God and been converted from his sins. Now last, but not least, Ge 21:21 And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran: and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.
His mother took him a wife out of Egypt, the world. This types Joseph down in Egypt as he is set up to rule under ‘God? This Egyptian wife represents the Gentiles or sinners who become converted to Jesus.
Ge 17:15 And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be. Ge 17:16 And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.
Sarah here represents Eve, the Mother of us all. Eve was mother of both the bondchildren (fleshly) and she was the Mother of the Righteous. She is the Mother of all LIVING. It is truly appalling to hear the lies and ungodliness men teach against our Holy Mother because of lies of a lying prophet who claimed to be an OT Prophet, Elijah. Now any person who knows Scripture knows that the Law and Prophets were only UNTIL John the Baptism. After that, the kingdom of God is preached.
So to go back to an old testament prophet, such as Elijah, would be doing away with Jesus and going back to the law or flesh and denying the kingdom of God, which came AFTER John. God said he spoke in times past to the fathers by the prophets, BUT in these LAST days (NT times) speaks to us by his Son. So to say we had an OT prophet is to flat deny Jesus or the Word of God. Jesus himself identified this Elijah of Malachi four as being John the Baptist, thus staying true to the word of God, that the law and prophets were until John. It denies NT Children, who are free, and can receive from God for ourselves. We are not under bondage to have to hear a prophet. We are spiritual and receive from Jesus.
So then both Eve and Sarah represent the NT Mother, Grace, or Jesus. So to speak evil of them is to speak evil against Jesus or Grace. When Hagar wept over her son and did not wish to see him die, this also shows Eve as she wept and grieved over her righteous son, Abel. When Seth was born, Eve said God has given me another SEED in place of ABEL whom Cain slew. So this proves that Eve was the mother of the righteous SEED, Jesus. So this solidly places Eve as the Mother of the righteous. Now I want to show you a great revelation here concerning this..0
Ge 17:18 And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!
When Abraham heard the prophecy of Isaac, who would be born by Sarah (the righteous), he had a blind spot here at this time. He only knew of the FLESHLY children. He only know of the children of Adam, the human bodies. See then that Adam was the father of the flesh. Eve was the mother of the flesh. Adam and Eve gave birth to all the fleshly people who ever live. At this time Abraham thought it was only in the flesh that any can live. So he felt a bit of doubt as to the birth of a spiritual son. So he interceded to God for this fleshly life. God heard this prayer and granted that we never will lose our human bodies. But notice that there has to be more in order for this human body, or the children of the wicked one, Adam, to live eternally.
This human flesh is actually the bondchild. That is why we as Christians must still keep this body in subjection or bondage to our inner man, Christ. If we live in this outer man, or flesh, the first man Adam, we will die. The second man Adam is the Lord from Heaven. So it is spiritual. So there must be a birth of a spiritual MAN as well as a birth of the flesh man. Now this spiritual man had to have a Mother also. Eve was that Mother. We know this is true for she said Abel and Seth were her SEED. Adam did not claim either of them. Adam is not said to be the father of the righteous. Abraham is.
So when God saved Ishmael and Hagar, it shows that the flesh man may receive life from Grace and live. All who live in their flesh and refuse this inner man, Christ, will then be lost forever, as bondchildren who did not repent and come to this well of living water. So Abraham was calling out for the salvation of our outer man, the human flesh. This was granted to him. So in the resurrection, this bondchild, flesh, will be raised up to life. Thus the sons of Adam and the Sons of God will be united into one and this is the marriage, or eternal life. Eve was the mother of both the flesh man and the spiritual man. Jesus Christ is HER SEED WHICH BRUISES THE HEAD OF SATAN, ADAM, FLESH.
