18. Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
See in departing from the Holy Scriptures, they erred from the truth.......for his Word is truth.
19. Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
.....depart from iniquity....watch those who depart from the Word.....they will tell you sins in the human flesh are NOT INIQUITY. For they live ungodly lives and this is why they depart from the Written Word.......for it reproves them of their sin......so they bring up profane babblings....saying their words are the Scripture and not the Written Word.
20. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
Purge oneself.....from iniquity.......... not reading the Word...... from human flesh sins.
22. Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
...flee [run.get away from. youthful LUSTS]. follow righteousness.....etc. This is the way to be Holy. One cannot be Holy in the mind and ungodly in their body.
