I ran across this thread and thought it needs to be in our salvation board, so am trying to move it. Msn is working so bad that it is almost impossible to do anything.

One of the first things we do when getting saved is to confess. We confess our sins and truly give them up to Jesus, the things that we know were wrong in our lives, that was apart of us and keeping us from true salvation.

So we learn that confessing is good. I did this not too long ago. I confessed that I had carelessly done things and it influenced another family member to be careless when she should have been thinking about the future. You see I should have been praying and staying on the right path that Jesus had put before me, instead of feeling sorry for myself after my father died.

This confession or taking responsibility for what I had done cleared the air and made me feel better. It set me free and made a stronger bond with one of the other family member that had tried to help while I was being careless.

Learn from my mistakes and really look inside yourself and see if there is anything that could hold you back from keeping a close walk with Jesus.

Here are some verses that supports what I feel is very important to getting salvation in our spiritual life and our everyday life.

Matthew 3:6

And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.

1John 1:9

[9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness

James 5:16

[16] Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Psamls 32:1-11

[1] Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
[2] Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
[3] When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.
[4] For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.
[5] I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
[6] For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.
[7] Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
[8] I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
[9] Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.
[10] Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about.
[11] Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

Yes, Hannah's mom. This is a good message and I thank you for giving it to us. and I thank Jodi for her good message.

I know when Mark died, it was a hard time for all of us. We had just started this great work for God, Bottf, not long before that. I know that you and Wanna and I all went through some stuff at that time, which only God knows and could help us with.

I am so glad He has helped us. And I am so thankful to have you back with us now. You have done so much for this great site, we could never thank you enough or be right without you.

You and your Daddy were so close and it hit you so hard, but God gives us what we need in those trying times. I went through so much suffering after my Rachel's death, that only God could have brought me through it.

But you know what... this is something I have not told anyone. I truly hate it....but as you said, confession is good for us. It is one of the hardest things we have to do, that is for sure.

I HATE it. I HATE having to repent. I HATE that feeling of being downcast and under condemnation. I really HATE IT.

But know what...that is one of the things which keeps me going in the right direction with my God....because I hate being under condemnation and having to try to repent and get back in fellowship with God.

Back many years ago, I went through a hard time of God really letting me 'see' myself. It was horrible! I HATED it. I knew what Job meant when he said, I abhorred myself. (This was way before you were born. Bucky was still alive then.)

God was merciful though, and gave it to me only a small bit at a time. I don't think I could have taken it if the whole thing had hit me at once. I went through seeing myself, seeing how bad my attitude was and the things I was doing. I would hate myself, and cry, and repent and try to do better.

Then wham! here comes some more! Oh , my, how horrible...did I really say that, in THAT way?? Oh my. How I hate going through this again! Cry some more. repent some more. try again. etc. etc. for about four months or more.

But when it was over, I was a new person. I had conquered much of that mess I was at the time. I HATED that so much, I set my mind not to go back through that stuff so I would not have to repent anymore.

People say they sin every day and have to continually repent. Well all I can say is, I CAN'T LIVE THAT WAY.

I hate all that crying! It stops up my nose and I can't breathe, and I get a bad headache from it. So I just live it right without all that condemnation. I love God and his Word and doing right, so why should I sin and have to repent all the time?

I told a person today, God said, if you are free from a mate, do not seek one. We are discussing marriage and divorce in another thread. I went through a time of 'seeking' one several years ago. it got my life in a big, fat mess.

No more! I will abide as I am now and serve my God without seeking a mate. If God should see fit to give me one, that would be different. But truly I do not look for it. Fact I have been alone too long now to want to change. Don't think I could.

But I had to pray and seek God for contentment as I am. That is God's way. He has answered my prayer.

I am desiring to see that sweet Great Grand Daughter of mine again. She is sooo sweet and I love her dearly.

well that is enough of my rambling for now.

So long. Me am gotta go to work again tonight.

I wonder if many people really have any idea what true repentance is? I truly think that they do not. When I hear so many claiming to sin every day, and repent every day, I know they have no idea what real repentance is.

I hear so many, especially preachers, who claim that they make mistakes, or sin, every day, so they ask God's forgiveness each day.

That is horrible deception. It is damnation to one's soul. That is not repentance. If a person commits the same sin over and over and over, they have not repented.

What they are really doing is hoping God will forgive them each night, so if they die they will go to heaven. But they love their sin, so they know they are going to do the same old sins every day. that is NOT repentance. That is foolishness. That is great deception.

True repentance means that you reach a point that you really hate the sin you are doing, hate it that you have sinned, hate it that you are out of fellowship with God, hate it that you are sinning, and you fully REPENT, meaning you make up your mind to GIVE THE SIN UP.....to STOP doing the sin.

Until you reach that point, you have NOT REPENTED. You are only trying to deceive God into overlooking your sin and your LOVE for that sin.

As long as you love your sin, crave your sin, hope to go on doing your sin, you have NOT repented. This is why it is impossible to be a true Christian and sin every day. It is just not true.
Anyone who sins every day, or every week, or just regularly, is A SINNER.

Jesus told people to go their way and SIN NO MORE. He never one time told anyone to go your way and keep sinning, for I cannot take away your desire for sin, or give you the ability to quit your sins.

God will never forgive your sins, UNTIL you truly REPENT, meaning GIVE YOUR SINS UP. Quit your sinning. Hate your sinning. Hate it so much you desire to never do it again.

If you cannot reach this, you are no child of God. You are only deceiving your own self. When I hear people claiming how much they are tempted and having a hard time overcoming any sin, I know that person is not repented and right with God.

Repentance means you HATE YOUR SINS, AND WISH TO NEVER DO THEM AGAIN, FULLY INTEND TO NEVER DO THEM AGAIN. You absolutly MUST lay them on that altar to God and not pick them back up.

People, if anyone teaches you different from this, they are the enemy of your soul and will lead you straight into hell.

Search the Scriptures. Find where God tells us to go on sinning every day, or ever week, after we come to him! It is just not there.

Jo Smith

Freeborn,
I agree with you. What is TRUE REPENTANCE? Man or women can get on their knees and cry and pray for months. But GOD knows our hearts. So only God will know if the sinner is truly repentant. I think God knows when man says they sinned, and repented and GOD saved them. But it is what is in the heart that God looks for.
Not what comes from any mans lips. That is why I say that Adam did repent along with Eve of their sin, but in his heart-he was not sorry-and God knew that.
Have a good day.

OK, Dear. I am still looking for some proof of your statement. You must have something from God to say things like that. If Adam did repent, it will be written in Scripture.

We were not back there........neither you, nor Dake, nor I. we were not there....so the only way either of us can know what did happen back then.......is if God told us.....so where did God tell you?

Love ye,
Jo

Nope. Sorry to tell you........but.....ADAM NEVER REPENTED.

I agree totally and upon reading this realized that people who think they can sin every day and ask daily for forgiveness (I guess when they say their nighttime prayers), if they were to die that day before they had the chance to pray, would die in their sins. I wonder if this ever occurred to them?

Men sometimes become ashamed of their sinful ways, and give up some of their evil habits, before they are aroused to manifestly come to Christ; but it is the power of the gospel, the grace of Christ, that is drawing them to make reformation in their conduct. An influence of which they are unconscious works upon the soul, and the conscience is quickened, and the outward life is amended. And as Christ draws them to look upon his cross, to look upon him whom their sins have pierced, the commandment comes home to the conscience. The wickedness of their life, the deep-seated sin of the soul, is revealed to them. They begin to comprehend something of the righteousness of Christ, and exclaim, "Was all this love, all this suffering, all this humiliation demanded that we might not perish, but have everlasting life?" They then understand that it is the goodness of God that leadeth to repentance. A repentance such as this lies beyond the reach of our own powers to accomplish; it is obtained only from Christ, who ascended up on high, and has given gifts unto men. Christ is the source of every right impulse. He is the only one who can arouse in the natural heart enmity against sin. He is the source of our power if we would be saved. No soul can repent without the grace of Christ. The sinner may pray that he may know how to repent. God reveals Christ to the sinner, and when he sees the purity of the Son of God, he is not ignorant of the character of sin. By faith in the work and power of Christ, enmity against sin and Satan is created in his heart. Those whom God pardons are first made penitent.

Good to hear from you again, Seeker. I fully agree.

synthdysthsbbth, It is very good to hear from you again also. That is a very good message and explantion of the drawing power of christ. it is certainly most true. I really like the way you brought this out.
