******************************** 11Thes. 2:13. But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: Paul here speaks to Christians that they were chosen to salvation through SANCTIFICATION of the Spirit and belief of the TRUTH. No salvation without Sanctification of the Spirit, which is the Holy Ghost. This sanctification is NOT GOTTEN BY KEEPING ANY 7TH DAY SABBATH AS SOME SAY. Neither does it come by keeping any laws. It comes by believing the TRUTH. Jesus, the NT is the truth. 14. Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Here Paul makes it clear that it was his gospel which called them to obtaining glory of Jesus. It was not by Moses or the OT laws, it was by the NT gospel of Jesus. 15. Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. Here he tells them to hold to the traditions which they were taught, not by OT laws, but by his WORD [THINGS HE TOLD THEM IN PERSON; OR BY HIS EPISTLE = HIS WRITTEN WORDS] See how far people are off this NT teachings? You can go anywhere in the Book and prove it. 16. Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Now take special note of the above verse. It says we were given everlasting consolation and good hope THROUGH GRACE. NOT THROUGH LAW; NOT BY KEEPING SABBATH REST; BUT BY GRACE. GRACE, GRACE, GOD'S GRACE GRACE THAT IS GREATER THAN ALL OUR SIN. PRAISE GOD. 17. Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
