MORNING

This one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind.... I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Phil 3:13, 14

Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I Cor. 9:24-25

Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus. Heb 12:1, 2

EVENING

The Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee. Deut. 31:8

If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence. Ex. 33:15

O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps. Jer. 10:23

The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. Psa. 37:23, 24

I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand. Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. Psa. 73:23-24

I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom. 8:38, 39

MORNING

Every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it. John 15:2

He is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap: and he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness. Mal. 3:2, 3

We glory in tribulations: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope: and hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Rom. 5:3-5

If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the Father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees. Heb. 12:7, 8, 11, 12

EVENING

Now we call the proud happy. Mal. 3:15

Thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. Isa. 57:15

Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. Prov. 16:19

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for their's is the kingdom of heaven. Matt. 5:3

These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: a proud look, etc.-Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD. Prov. 6:16, 17

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psa. 139:23, 24

Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God upon every remembrance of you. Phil. 1:2, 3

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Matt. 5:5

The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance, and of my cup. Psa. 16:5

He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness, for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psa. 23:3, 4

Thou hast holden me by my right hand. Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. Psa. 73:23-26

Our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. Psa. 33:21

The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands. Psa. 138:8

EVENING

In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul Psa. 94:19

MORNING

Hope maketh not ashamed. Rom. 5:5

I am the LORD: ... they shall not be ashamed that wait for me. Isa. 49:23

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. Jer. 17:7

My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. Psa. 62:5, 6

I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed. II Tim. 1:12

God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us; which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus. Heb. 6:17-20

EVENING

The offence of the cross. Gal. 5:11

If any man will come after me, let him deny himself; and take up his cross, and follow me. Matt. 16:24

Know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. James 4:4

We must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God. Acts 14:22

Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. Rom. 9:33

Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, and a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence. I Pet. 2:7, 8

God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. Gal. 6:14

I am crucified with Christ. Gal. 2:20

They that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. Gal. 5:24

If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us. II Tim. 2:12

MORNING

The Lord is at hand. Phil. 4:5

The Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. I Thes. 4:16-18

He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly; Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Rev. 22:20

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. II Pet. 3:14

Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. I Thes. 5:2-24

Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts; for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. James 5:8

EVENING

The choice vine. Gen. 49:11

My wellbeloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill: and he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, . . and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes. Isa. 5:1, 2

Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me. Jer. 2:21

The works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness.... envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like:... but the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance. Gal. 5:19, 21-23

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, be purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Abide in me, and I in you.... Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit: so shall ye be my disciples. John 15: 1, 2, 4, 8

MORNING

The righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe. Rom. 3:22

He hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. II Cor. 5:21

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us. Gal. 3:13

Who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. I Cor. 1:30

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour. Titus 3:5, 6

I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, and be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith. Phil. 3:8, 9

EVENING

The spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. Rom. 8:15

Jesus... lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, Holy Father... O righteous Father. John 17:1, 11, 25

He said, Abba, Father. Mark 14:36

Because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Gal. 4:6

Doubtless thou art our father... thou, O LORD, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting. Isa. 63:16

I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, and am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. And he arose, and came to his father. Luke 15:18-20

Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children. Eph. 5:1

MORNING

Let us go forth unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come. Heb. 13:13, 14

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: but rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. I Pet. 4:12, 13

As ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation. II Cor. 1:7

If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the Spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. I Pet. 4:14

They departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. Acts 5:41

Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. Heb. 11:25, 26

EVENING

The Lord Jesus Christ ... shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body. Phil. 3:20, 21

Upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it. And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. Ezek. 1:26-28

We all, with open face, beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. II Cor. 3:18

It doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him for we shall see him as he is. I John 3:2

They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more. Rev. 7:16

They sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb. Rev. 15:3

Background: by the courtesty of Spurlock_51.

God, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son,. . who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high. Heb. 1:1-3

He hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. II Cor. 5:21

Pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold; ... but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you. I Pet. 17:20

The love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: and that lie died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. II Cor. 5:14, 15

MORNING

As thy days, so shall thy strength be. Deut. 33:25

Though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. II Cor. 4:16-18

Though [Jesus] were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered. Heb. 5:8

In all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Heb. 4:15

Thou God seest me. Gen. 16:13

O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether... Such knowledge is too wonderful for me: it is high, I cannot attain unto it. Psa. 139:1-4, 6

Let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. Heb. 12:1, 2

If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. Luke 9:23

Whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. Luke 14:33

Let us therefore cast off the works of darkness. Rom. 13:12

Every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight 1, not as one that beateth the air: but I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. I Cor. 9:25, 27

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Phil. 3:13, 14

Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD. Hos. 6:3

EVENING

It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth. Lam. 3:27

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Prov. 22:6

We have had fathers of our flesh, which corrected us; and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. Heb. 12:9, 10

Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word. It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes. Psa. 119:67, 71

I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jer. 29:11

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. I Pet. 5:6

MORNING

If ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; ... those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell. Num. 33:55

Fight the good fight of faith. I Tim. 6:12

The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; casting down imaginations.... and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. II Cor. 10:4, 5

Brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die; but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. Rom. 8:12, 13

The flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. Gal. 5:17

I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. Rom. 7:23

We are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Rom. 8:37

EVENING

If a man sin against the Lord, who shall intreat for him? I Sam. 2:25

If any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: and he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world. I John 2:1, 2

Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Rom. 3:25, 26

He is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom. Job 33:24

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea, rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Rom. 8:31, 33, 34
