And I again welcome you, eelyahomaika.
About the Dakes Bible, I personally will not study from anything which is not the pure word of God.
God has not given authority to ANY man to add his words to God's word in such a manner as Scofield and Dakes have done.
God told us not to add even ONE word to his, nor to take away even one word.
This is very serious business.... this adding their own thoughts and teachings right inside the Word of God so that their words influence the reader actually MORE than God's Word does.
It is dangerous to study from such a bible, for then your own mind is not free to allow God to inspire His word to you and take another Scripture and reveal a Scripture to you.
This is the ONLY means of rightly dividing and interpreting the Word of God = by another Scripture, which is God's Word.
I hope you will consider this. years ago I had a Scofield book, because my baptist preachers advised that. I finally became so worn out trying to study the Scriptures, when scofield had so much of his own words on the same pages and over and under verses, till it was honestly hard to see what was Scripture and what was scofield.
I finally burned that thing, and now will not buy a Scripture until I can find one which has NO MAN'S ADDED WORDS IN IT.
They are hard to find, but I do it. Man thinks he has to tell us what to believe about God's Word. I say NO. God has to tell us.
Notice how much of what they say is NOT ACTUALLY WRITTEN IN SCRIPTURE, BUT IMAGINATIONS OF CARNAL MINDED MEN.
God said let every man be a liar and let God be true.
If I or anyone else tells things which are NOT WRITTEN IN SCRIPTURE, it is a lie.
Jesus said search the Scriptures. He did not say search some man's commentaries.
Blessings to you,
Jo
