Hi.. I actually joined this group a while ago but can't recall if I had a chance to say and introduce myself.. When I joined I had a major family situation which is resolved now. And just a lot of stuff going on. I really liked the sound of Jo(?) the person who invited me(?) - don't really recall how that went down..

Anyway I'm 29 years old, almost 30 and live in harrisburg, PA. With my sister and my cat, her name is Pez..

My question is...you guys seemed really nice and all but what's up with the KJV-onlyism? I was just reading the Posting Guidelines and saw about that.. If that's how it is that's cool, but I think I'm going to have to go which would make me sad.. I mean I believe it is possible to be saved and not speak English. And personally I prefer to use modern English, since word usage has shifted somewhat from that time..

So if that's how it is. I'm cool and glad and you're up front about it. But there's only so many hours in the day and ... I've decided prayerfully to not have anything to do with people, like that. I mean if that's in the leadership and stuff.. So I'm glad you're up front about it though.. I wanted to be up-front too and maybe you can clarify..

Like maybe you mean quote the Bible and not some crazy version.. Although most of the major versions all agree (they sorta have to, the original source texts not exactly being a mystery) in the essentials so I'm not sure what's up with the KJV-only part. And I'm not looking for the lecture either. I've read several of them.. No.. You notice I'm not Koine-Greek-Text only anyone. That would at least be somewhat conscionable though. Unfortunately for me I don't speak it so that would mean I am going to hell.

It's a shame.  You guys seemed pretty cool..

Anyway hope you have a great day! It is a gorgeous day here in PA though it's supposed to start to rain soon.

Love in Christ,
Anne

6. Messages which are copied and pasted, of things which we cannot prove from the KJV, may be deleted, if they are objectionable to true doctrine, according to the KJV.  Here we believe and honor the KJV, and want discussions to be using this Scripture.

( If this is what you are referring to, we are not saying that you have to speak English to be saved. We are saying that this is the only bible we use, whether it is in English. Russian, Japanese, Chinese or whatever lanague yu are familar with.)

Any one can be saved. For God so loved the world. Sorry if there is a misunderstanding and again we welcome you to "Build On The True Foudation"

Oh okay, so you're saying for common reference you prefer to use that one for those who are maybe a bit contentious. That's cool.. I was just a little concerned. I can understand the "prefer to use" sort of way of looking at it. I've known people who can be a bit weird about things.

Have a great day! And thanks for responding so fast. :) Anne

Anne,  when people claim we must study the 'original' language to get truth,  that is what we fight.
God already gave the English speaking people HIS word in English, by dedicated people who understood that language and ours.

So for some little person, who is only human,  which we all are,  to come up and try to say they know more about it than God did,  and God did not watch over his word to give us the pure Word to study, believe and live by,  then that is just setting oneself up much too high.

I trust that God gave me the truth.  It is the KJV.  I do not know any other language and do not need to.  God gave me the pure word.  Modern men have taken that up and changed it to suit their own ideas and change the true meaning.
That is the 'other' english versions.

They certainy do NOT agree.    God did not raise them up to change what he had already given us.

Now what other languages have, I do not know.  It is up to them to know the Word.

We have certainly NOT said that they must learn English, the KJV, to be saved.

That stuff,  ADDING false words,  not understanding what is written,  is what has brought up so many false teachings.

You seem to 'judge' much too quickly.  But that is fine also.  So maybe you can find some 'cool' ones who suit your own ideas.

We have the truth and we live by it and teach it.  If that is not 'cool' enough to you,  so be it.

We have had enough of the 'sneerers' in here.

you seemed to be 'cool' to me also, when I first saw some of your posts elsewhere.  So I thought you might be a good member here.  But seems I was mistaken.

Jo   ---- believing only the kjv,  and saying it is not full of errors   ...it is truth,  or the English people have no truth to go by.

So  you just choose which one you trust your eternal life in.  Mine is settled.  God gave me the Holy ghost exactly as is recorded in the Book of Acts.  He speaks to me and reveals his word to me,  so i know I am studying the right Scripture.

But thanks for telling us something about yourself.  May you stay 'cool'.
