Well, This is hard to think on. I use a lot of Serif Software as I do Desk Top Publishing Layouts similar to magazine pages for my design work for my hobby projects in needlework. I also have Corel Draw 8 Full Version. (This includes Corel Paint, Corel Capture & CorelDream3D) This is way before PSP7 and long before Corel took on PSP.
My friend did PSP. I though if she can do it so can I so I got PSP7 Anniversary Addition.and thought wah! here I go!.Wrong!
With the Anniversary Edition one you got some extras like Gloop and Elemental plus some extra tubes/frames/masks. Gloop and Elemental are effects. I did no get on with it very well. Actually I could not get on with it at all. Big dumb Dopey Me....
Quite a while later.....
I joined PSP Magic and learnt from their tutorials for PSP7. I then got 8 & 10 but I still use 7 most of the time unless there is something I cannot do.
PSP Magic is no longer a working group. You do not have to join but you can still go there. Some of the Tutorials are still on site and the link is HERE I learnt the basics and from there it was trial and error.
I use a lot of my own photography as you know. Photography is a hobby and is essential to my design work. When I did my C & G for Lace and Design and then another Design course, photography was nessessary so that stems from there.
Animations. I worked out mostly myself, But then I was trying out these with Seif Software anyway before PSP7. I use Animation Shop Mostly unless I specifically want something that is better in Serif. I do love my Serif Software. I have been a customer with them for 8 years. They keep in touch regularly and do not give the hard sell to me.
Ali & Jj who ran PSP Magic got into Daz3D so they started a new group for Daz but still continue to have PSP on their new group. Their New Group is called High Heel Renders and they have tutorial on site for PSP 9 and a few for 10.
I followed their tutorials in order for Beginners PSP7 and then PSP7 in general. I did each tutorial 2 or 3 times. I also, when possible printed them off so I had them to hand. Everything else I learn by trial 7 error.
If I want to do something and can't I usually see if I can find a tutorial on the internet. I just put it into google. You have to be careful and make sure that the tutorails are using their own work.
I sometimes look HERE. When I work from a tutorial, If I use their graphics I only use it as a learning curve. I do not keep it and say it is mine.
I also when working will work with layers lots of them. I also rename layers to keep me in order of working. I also draw my own graphics (not very well) but they are mine.
Oh and I also use Daz3D... I am just feeling at home with that one after months of trial and error.
Hope this helps....
