I was absolutely stunned hearing his admission that he did heroin before races.
I applaud guys like Kevin Harvick who are irate about this and about Nascars "probable cause" policy. I agree with Kevin, random testing for all drivers from Daytona 500 to Homestead.
Seems Nascar wants to have a drug problem BEFORE it institutes random testing. While I believe Fike is in the tiny percentage of racers who are on drugs, random testing could ensure everyone that their fellow competitors are clean.
That is one business where you don't need to be competing against someone under the influence.
Drivers are independent contractors that are not employed directly by NASCAR. I am an independent tellecommunications contractor and if anyone required me to take a drug test I would tell them to shove it up their ass, even if some of the other contractors screamed that I should take a test because I screwed up an install.. NASCAR probably thinks there could be some legal issues involved. They are also scared to find out Mark Martin is a coke head, Jeff Gordon has AIDS and Dale JR is really a woman. LOL
