You bought a Harley??  I didn't think there was any other bike made!! LOL  Unless maybe an Indian!  Congratulations!  Even though I don't own one I always love the sound of a Harley riding by!

We had wanted a Harley when we bought our Hondas but they were so outlandishly priced we backed out.  We bought two 2002 Hondas...Tims is a VTX 1800 and mines a Shadow Spirit 750 (hence TexasSpiritBiker) for less than we could buy a 1993 Harley for.

 

It has been hard to go to a Harley because its a much less powerful bike.  It just doesn't have any get up and go -- no Harley's do...not compared to a metric at least.  They have very small motors without any ooomph...but they still have the Harley mystic.  After we got our metrics we still had Harley fever but Tim couldn't justify givnig up so much in engine size and horsepower yet paying over twice the money.  Now that we have it, he says its gonna take a lot of adjustment getting used to so little power in a bike - he compares it to a Ferrari vs a Volkswagon.

 

Harley's suck as far as performance go....and they break down constantly but that's okay...its a Harley! lol

I agree Tom.  Harley has its own sound and prestige that no other bike has.  Most

everyone I know that doesn't ride a Harley, plans to get one.  It is the standard that

everyone compares their bike to. 

 

Congratulations Spirit!!!   I guess you will be riding behind Tim on this one?  or

will you make him ride behind you, lol?  Either way, I hope you enjoy it.  I've only

ridden on Harleys.  Never had the chance to ride on anything else.   I know you guys don't ride much, but I bet you'll ride this one.  Sounds like you got a very good deal on it.  Do you realize that the '03's are the 100 yr. anniversary bikes?   Again,

congratulations on your new family member (we think of our bikes as our kids),

and may you have miles and miles of smiles.

We've been riding all morning...just came home to take a nap then we're heading our again.  I love having the stereo!!

 

And yes, it is the 100th annv edition.  It has a special emblem on it.  I love the bike!!  Now I can buy Harley stuff and be part of the Harley family.  I'm so happy!!
