WE WILL MOVE FORWARD IN GALVESTON WITH THE LONESTAR RALLY
WITH NEW DATES

DECEMBER 11 - 14

Dear Riders,

It is unfortunate and beyond my control that I inform you that the dates of the Lone Star Rally must be changed to Dec 11-14th. We were contacted by City officals today and told that, in spite of great effort on their part, downtown will not be ready in time for the regulary scheduled dates. We are sorry for the inconvience but it is agreed by all that safety is our first and foremost concern and after touring the property with City officals yesterday it was agreed that it would not be up to our standards for presentation to our community in time. We hope you'll understand and adjust your plans accordingly. This hurricane effected everyone. Perhaps its best we give everyone a few more weeks to get back on their feet.

Yours in Success,
Ron Limbock
President- Lone Star Rally, Inc.

Please be patient with lodging as all are working on being operational ASAP

I'll be.  This is good news.  The house we stay in has an electrical pole
laying on the top story.   We want to go (very much so), but had little
faith in staying there, as the top floor is condemned.  Maybe this will
buy the owner enough time to get the house fixed up.  I think this is for
the best, and I'm just hoping our house, or some facility will be available.
We are planning on doing some close to the house bike camping in a
couple of weeks.  I'm looking forward to that.  I'd still like to do something
the weekend of the original Lone Star Rally.  We have the time off.

Damon Dave is going to try and throw a Luau/Post Ike/Halloween Biker Party at Lake Somerville the same weekend since LSR postponed.  You might want to go to that.  I don't know if we can get away for the weekend or not.  I've got a 15 yr old that's gonna want to do something for Halloween and I'd feel guilty being gone.

Btw, do ya'll ever go to West of the Brazos?  If so, did you hear that Sandra was killed in a bike accident last month?  She had a head-on with a truck and was killed instantly.  Curtis was right behind her but by the time he could stop and get to her, she was gone.  Since its a biker bar I thought ya'll might go occasionally.

I've stopped in at West of the Brazos.  I don't know Sandra and Curtis, that I'm aware of (sometimes I know the face not the name) , but I'm VERY sorry to
hear about this.  Do you know if she crossed the line or if the truck came
into her lane?  My condolences.

The truck came into her lane.  Curtis was about 50-75 ft behind her and watched it happen.  They were high school sweethearts and had been married 33 years.  From what I understand he's having a really hard time adjusting.  It happened Sunday Sept 21.

I didn't know them that well, just met them a time or two, but I have friends who were really close to them...and with WOTB being literally just down the road, we have been several times.  They are very well known to many in the biker community though.

I cannot imagine how hard it must be to watch your soulmate die that way.
