  1 German chocolate cake mix 1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels 2/3 c. evaporated milk 3/4 c. butter or margarine, melted 1 c. chocolate chips 1 c. nuts, chopped (optional)
 
  Melt caramels with 1/3 cup milk.  Combine cake mix with butter or margarine, 1/2 cup milk, mix with spoon.  Grease and flour 13 x 9 inch pan.  Spread mixture.  Bake at 350 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes.  Cover with caramels, chips and nuts.  Put remaining cake mix on top.  Bake 10 minutes.  |     |
