Great to see you here Joni, and welcome !!
I`m sorry I don`t get here as often as I`d like to. been really busy here trying out a different recording system.
Carl Smith & Goldie Hill were among my favorites too, I still think it`s a shame that they didn`t have carl come up on stage to get his award at the Opry.!
I know Carl loves his horses as much as he loves his music so he`s not hurt by the experience.
It just make the rest of us hot under the collar. Well you have a great day
Dan

i can relate to him with the love of horses, because we had 1 racking horse, 3 paint quarter horses, and 7 quarter horses. after my husbands last trip tp the hospital we sold all but 1 paint. it was hard to do. but his health came first. i don't think they did carl right either, but where is written life is fair lol. joni

what was strange. the night he stood up at CMA when
they mention his name

June had died that year
Johnny Cash was winning award for Hurt just
shortly after releasing the song

Johnny has just died about a month before
and June Second child just died a month after
John did!

maybe carl himself did not want to make that big a
deal himself when June and John died??

Carl said once that he appeared at that awards
show for Goldie and the kids. He himself didn't
support the CMA, and like Waylon, he personally
didn't care about the induction into the HOF.
