One thing to be aware of (I found out right away) user names with symbols and other dodads can not be used on Multiply so over there, jd_cd will be mrwild985
I hate having to read so much. 
From what I have read so far, only a manager can migrate the MSN site. I am also waiting till we are notified that we are migrating. Problems can come up if you try and build your group ahead of time, because not all the features match up. Your members may want to back-up their photos just in case. I have already backed-up CJ's sub pages. Here is my page on Multiply. It is very basic and, like was said by Joni, at first it was confusing. http://mrwild985.multiply.com/
