Aww...what a shame! No Mannings in the Super Bowl this year! The Giants got beat today! The 4 remaining teams are for the birds! LOL Ravens, Cardinals, Eagles...and the Steelers. I'm going for the Cardinals--I love underdogs! |

The Cardinals actually started in Chicago back when the Bears were in Decatur (here in downstate Illinois). Bears moved to Chicago, Cardinals moved to St Louis. Several years ago the team owner sold them & they were moved to Phoenix...now they're the Arizona Cardinals. An old friend used to play for them. Now they have a kicker I met a few times when he played at the local university...Neil Rackers. There's your piece of NFL history for today. LOL |

Yes, and Cardinals are the state bird for North Carolina. Very funny that the Cardianls (football team) came into town last Saturday and destroyed the Carolina Panthers (our football team). No wait it was the Panthers that destroyed themselves. All season long they have won every game in their own stadium (8-0) until that fateful night. I believe that a gang of old women could have come into town and beat them. They played terrible, were coached terrible, and just plain stunk. |

Correctamundo Judy!! But the Arizona Cardinals started out in St. Louis...I don't think I saw 1 single Cardinal bird when I was in Tucson... But the state bird for Virginia is the Cardinal too...I believe it's a state bird for quite a few...but Arizona??? They's all confoosed |

Cardinal is Illinois' state bird too...probably where the name came from since the team started in Chicago. |
