Way too much food. Janet made the turkey as well as her kind of stuffing and gravy. I also made some stuffing, sweet potatoes and brown gravy. I brought ham pinwheels and stuffed celery. Nancy made corn, mashed taters, green beens, peas with little onions and carrots. We also had rolls and biscuits. There was entirely too many things on the table. Desserts there was Apple crumb pie, pecan pie, pumpkin pie and my MIL made a cream puff ring. |

This was an interesting Thanksgiving, at least food-wise. My mil made ham, sweet potatoes & her version of dressing (soggy). We had a carry-in at work. Considering I work with an almost all-black staff I ate good! Cornbread dressing, cornbread, spaghetti, ham hocks & greens, mac & cheese, noodles, fried chicken, potato salad, red velvet cake...omg I was stuffed! Nothing better than good old fashioned soul food! Reminded me of the holidays when I dated Rick! |

Lets see we had turkey, chestnut dressing(yuck) made by my friend along with her brussels sprouts. Oyster dressing (yum) that I made. My sister made mashed potatoes made with dijon mustard--don't ask I don't don't know why-but I definitely know why I don't eat potatoes and fresh cranberry salad which actually was pretty good, could had used a bit more sugar but hey it was good and I hate cranberries. My brothers "friend" (I will be so glad to just call her his g/f) made green bean casserole. As for desserts my sis made chocolate pumpkin cheesecake and chocolate pie. We had pumpkin coffee cake and mincemeat pie. And the best part of the meal-my daghter's loss of her attitude if only for awhile--but Lord knows I think all aldults invited brought it lol. |
