I am not sure how old I am but Mom was sewing something (oh did she suck at sewing) and she stuck the needle in the pillow on the couch.  Guess who got it in the knee cap?  I don't remember going to the dr or hospital to have it removed but I do remember not being allowed to walk for a while after it was removed.  I have no clue why.  I also remember the dr. coming to the house to diagnose my scarlet fever.  No clue again how old I was but I was pretty young.

I remember when JFK was shot...my mom was ironing while watching the soaps & started bawling.  I also remember when Uncle Ernie got his arm shot off & my grandma asking "what the hell was he hunting in Cicero".  LOL  I was the same age as JFK Jr. so maybe 3?

Ummmmm...not sure how young...3 or 4...like everyone else...and I think I have other memories...but the one that had the biggest impact was the day Mom, Dad & I came home from grocery shopping to find our apartment fully engulfed in fire...

I remember the way my dolls smelled even though they weren't 'burned'...I remember my mother crying out and burying her head in my Dad's chest/armpit area when we saw it...I remember them telling me that my parakeet Petey 'had escaped and flown out the window'...and the really bad thing on top everything else...was the realization that we had seen the fire trucks go by the grocery store...and Mom & Dad had pointed them out to me because he knew I loved firetrucks...now that's irony...

But...as bad as it all seemed at the time...Mom and Dad were stronger as a couple for it...
