A Poem To Welcome Honey
My little girl is strongly built and robust
Full of vigor, healthy and has stamina too
She stands there erect as a soldier must
A guard, a sentry, on watch to do.
She's a little leader in her Lutino uniform
So bright, alert and attentive too
Her kiss of yellows to me does warm
Just the sight of her makes my heart beat true.
I'm told she's very quiet and sweet as can be
She's soon to be upon a plane to her new home
And in her pink carrier, a stolen look I'll see
And then she'll rest in her cage under the roof that's a dome.
We have a lifetime each ahead of us
To learn each other's ways
To grow with love forever more
And upon my shoulder, she will happily stay.
